Full Job Description
Position Purpose: This role focuses on execution and operational support within a defined product line. The individual supports the Senior Components Product Manager by managing day-to-day production line needs and overseeing individual customer contracts. This position ensures smooth execution of ongoing programs while maintaining alignment with the product line's strategic objectives and operational excellence goals. This Program Manager I position provides a progression toward strategic product ownership (Product Manager), which brings increasing responsibility for product line performance and team leadership. Title: Program Manager I Position Type: Full Time Pay Range: $90,000 - $135,000 (Salary to be determined by the education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities of the applicant, internal equity, and alignment with market data.) On-site position at our Boulder, CO location (work locations are subject to change based on business need). Benefits: 3 Employer sponsored health, dental, and vision benefits effective the first of the month following hire date 3 Life insurance 3 401k (matching 4% with a minimum 5% contribution) 3 Generous PTO (3 weeks of vacation + 3 floating holidays, 2 weeks of sick time, 7 paid holidays throughout the year) and parental leave Job Responsibilities: Contract and Program Management: 3 Manage component contracts with domestic and international customers with support from the leadership team and the Product Manager 3 Support contract negotiations and coordinate resolution of scope discrepancies and performance expectations 3 Track and report cost and schedule performance on assigned contracts 3 Serve as primary point of contact for assigned customer contracts 3 Other duties as assigned Product Line and Business Support: 3 Coordinate cross-functional activities across engineering, operations, supply chain, quality, and finance to support on-time delivery 3 Monitor and report on product line performance KPIs such as cost per unit, on-time delivery, and first pass yield 3 Support implementation of action plans to improve production metrics 3 Assist with product transitions and end-of-life planning activities 3 Assist with product line forecasting and budget tracking 3 Support pricing analysis and business case development for product initiatives 3 Contribute to risk and opportunity identification and management 3 Ensure all business activities comply with ethical standards, applicable laws, and company policies Customer & Stakeholder Interface: 3 Strengthening new and existing customer relationships with the business 3 Support customer communications and serve as their advocate within the organization 3 Collaborate with sales team on customer engagement activities Leadership: 3 Participate in knowledge sharing and team collaboration activities Required Qualifications/Education: 3 0-5 years of relevant experience in program management, product management, or aerospace industry 3 Bachelors degree in engineering. Science, Business Administration, or related fields 3 Experience managing customer contracts, programs, or projects 3 The ability to prepare clearly summarize meeting notes, prepare customer deliverables, and cross-functional PowerPoint presentations. 3 Strong organizational and communication skills 3 Ability to coordinate across multiple functional teams 3 Proficiency in project management tools and methodologies 3 Must be able to work in a highly collaborative, fast-paced environment with emphasis in rapid prototyping and fielding of capabilities 3 Related experience may be considered in lieu of education Preferred Qualifications: 3 Experience in the aerospace or small spacecraft industry 3 Familiarity with flight hardware or actuator systems 3 PMP or similar program management certification 3 Experience with government contracts and compliance requirements 3 Understanding of systems engineering and technical management skills and demonstrated ability to grow new business opportunities and execute demanding flight programs 3 Ability to work rapidly with minimal supervision on projects involving both small and large engineering teams 3 Previous experience and skills in project definition, simulation, implementation, lab integration and test Working Conditions: This job operates in a professional office environment, but in a manufacturing company. This role uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, scanners, filing cabinets and fax machines.
