Full Job Description
Role Purpose

LevelTen Engineering is hiring a Program Manager, Engineering Operations to partner with the Technical Program Management function and help the engineering organization deliver more effectively. The role has two halves that reinforce each other. The first is hands-on program delivery: running internal engineering projects, tracking deliverables and timelines, building contingency plans, and navigating a matrixed organization where engineering resources are shared across competing priorities. The second is operational: supporting release operations, analyzing how we work, finding where we can improve, and building the data, documentation, and tooling to make those improvements stick.

This role reports directly to the Sr. Technical Program Manager and works closely with Engineering, Product, Data, Analytics, and Infrastructure.

Responsibilities
  • Own delivery of internal engineering projects end to end, including scope definition, milestone planning, deliverable tracking, and timeline management
  • Develop contingency plans for dependency slips, resource constraints, and shifting scope, surfacing risk early rather than reporting it late
  • Operate effectively in a matrixed organization where engineering capacity is shared across competing initiatives, helping sequence work when priorities collide and communicating the downstream impact of those changes
  • Serve as the embedded program management presence for assigned engineering teams, owning project intake, tracking, and delivery visibility
  • Own release coordination across weekly feature batch releases, vulnerability releases, and hotfixes, keeping engineering, product, and stakeholders aligned on what ships and when
  • Run project cadence and reporting, including status updates, decision logs, meeting facilitation, and clean follow-through on action items
  • Analyze engineering delivery metrics to surface process improvement opportunities, and maintain the SDLC documentation that keeps teams consistent
  • Support vendor governance, including deliverable tracking, onboarding coordination, and engagement reporting across contracted engineering partners
  • Reduce manual and repetitive operational work through tooling and automation, and build the dashboards, trackers, and summaries that keep leadership and cross-functional partners informed

Core Qualifications
  • 2 to 4 years of experience in technical program management, engineering operations, or a comparable delivery-focused role within a software organization
  • Working knowledge of software development methodologies, including Kanban, Scrum, and Agile practices, with a practical sense of when each is the right fit
  • Demonstrated ability to manage timelines and deliverables across teams you do not directly manage, and to influence without authority
  • Strong analytical skills, comfortable pulling and interpreting delivery data rather than simply organizing it
  • Exceptional organization, able to hold many parallel threads without dropping them and to bring order to ambiguous or incomplete inputs
  • Excellent written and verbal communication, with the range to shift between engineer-facing detail and executive-facing summary
  • Genuine empathy for the people doing the work, with the judgment to know when a team needs pressure and when it needs cover
  • Hands-on experience using AI tools, specifically Claude, to accelerate program management work such as drafting communications, analyzing data, and building documentation
  • Familiarity with Jira, Confluence, or equivalent project tracking and documentation tools
  • Comfort working across both product engineering and data or analytics engineering contexts

Nice to Have
  • Experience with data warehouse platforms such as BigQuery
  • Familiarity with data pipeline concepts and 3rd party data ingestion workflows
  • Exposure to vulnerability management or security operations support
  • Experience working alongside nearshore or offshore engineering vendor relationships
  • Experience in a SaaS or marketplace-model company
  • Exposure to renewable energy, energy markets, or climate tech

Why This Role

This is a ground-floor opportunity to build the operational backbone of a scaling engineering organization. You will own real programs, run release operations end to end, and have genuine influence over how the whole engineering org works. If you want a role where your impact shows up across the organization rather than inside a single team or project, this is it.
