Full Job Description
The Position

We are searching for a Program Manager on our Robotics & Space Operations team at ourBrampton office. With 40 years of operational experience and proven performance on the iconic Canadarm programs including Space Shuttle and International Space Station robotics and operations support, our Robotics & Space Operations team has 100% mission success in making space dreams come true.

As our Program Manager, you will manage space programs for domestic and international customers that include opportunities related to new R&D, servicing the International Space Station, commercial space companies and deep space exploration.

Responsibilities

  • Demonstrate leadership across the organization, promoting common core values
  • Lead multi-disciplinary program teams to meet technical, schedule, cost and revenue requirements in a FFP contract environment.
  • Identify and manage program risks and opportunities, implement mitigation actions, prioritize work, resolve and/or escalate issues, and manage customer expectations
  • Lead negotiation and discussion sessions with customers to reach an agreement on all aspects of the program
  • Maintain hands-on control of the program through a process of regular program reviews, design reviews and audits, staff meetings and other program meetings
  • Maintain program visibility at the customer level through regular technical, management, and progress meetings.
  • Liaise with customers to maintain effective relationships to instill and enhance the customer's confidence in MDA's quality systems and products
  • Develop and maintain close working relationships with Quality Assurance, Finance, Project Planning and Control, Contracts, Engineering and Manufacturing and New Business Development
  • Review program financial information and generate monthly program report to senior management


Experience

  • Minimum5 years Program Management experience in Space, Aerospace, or Defense sector with a min. project or portfolio size of $10M
  • Demonstrated success of leading a complex cross functional team to plan and execute project of $10M or greater from inception to delivery, covering design & development, new product introduction, procurement, sub-contract, manufacturing, assembly, qualification testing, integration and functional testing,
  • Strong knowledge of program management best practices along with experience with MS Project, earned value methodology, negotiations, risk management, contract management, subcontract management, financials and ITAR regulations


Areas of specific knowledge that are desired include:

  • Expert knowledge of Space, Aerospace or Defense industry's gated process
  • Ability to understand contracts
  • Knowledge of ITAR and other security regulations
  • PMP certification is desirable but not mandatory
  • Familiarity with CSA, NASA, ESA is an asset


Required

  • 5 + years: Program Management Experience within High value programs
  • Ability to travel as required


Comments/Special Considerations:

Successful candidates must obtain and hold security clearance at the reliability status level, and pass security assessment for the Controlled Goods Program (CGP).

The compensation range for this position is $115,000 - $155,000 annually. The specific compensation offered will be based on the qualifications and experience of the successful candidate.
