Through the Data for Good program and related initiatives, the team partners across SAS and with external organizations to apply data, technology, and responsible innovation to real-world challenges. In this role, you’ll help manage programs and projects that move ideas into practical outcomes, bringing strong coordination, communication, and judgment to work that often spans teams, partners, and disciplines. Technical experience may be helpful, but it is not required; curiosity, follow-through, and the ability to connect people, ideas, and workstreams are essential.

As a Program Manager, you may:

  • Support the development of emerging programs that help employees contribute to meaningful social impact work through structured projects.
  • Establish repeatable processes, success measures, and operating frameworks that help programs deliver measurable value, support continuous improvement, and scale sustainably over time.
  • Build and manage relationships with community partners, helping identify shared goals, coordinate engagement, and support projects that create practical value for both partners and SAS.
  • Coordinate projects from planning through execution, working with internal teams, volunteers, and external partners.
  • Champion responsible innovation and transparency by embedding ethical inquiry, stakeholder engagement, and clear communication into programs and projects, while helping communicate goals, progress, impact, and lessons learned.
  • Partner with stakeholders to tell compelling stories that showcase how SAS technology, responsible innovation, and community partnerships create meaningful outcomes, helping amplify impact and extend the SAS brand.

Required qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree with a minimum of 3 years of full-time relevant experience.
  • Independent thinker who can develop ideas and drive work forward, while recognizing when collaboration, stakeholder input, and consensus-building are essential to success.
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently, take initiative, and navigate ambiguity while balancing multiple priorities.
  • Strong collaborator who builds productive relationships and works effectively across diverse teams, functions, and perspectives.
  • You’re curious, passionate, authentic, and accountable. These are our values and influence everything we do.
  • Equivalent combination of related education, training and experience may be considered in place of the above qualifications.
  • Location:  Cary, HQ Hybrid (minimum of 3 days in the office per week).

Preferred qualifications

  • Interest in or familiarity with philanthropy, corporate social responsibility, nonprofit organizations, community engagement, or social impact initiatives.
  • Experience working with or supporting community-based organizations, volunteer programs, educational institutions, or other mission-driven organizations is a plus.
  • Interest in AI ethics, governance, and social impact is a plus.
  • A tech enthusiast who is curious, creative, and eager to learn.
