Full Job Description
McKesson is modernizing its B2B Specialty eCommerce platform - one of the company's most business-critical commerce platforms, supporting McKesson's growing Oncology & Multispecialty segment. We are seeking a Program Manager to own this multimillion-dollar program end to end, keep it aligned with McKesson's wider strategy and business goals, and deliver it with the discipline and precision a program of this scale demands. You will manage all aspects of the program from pre-planning through implementation, cutover, and post-go-live stabilization; plan and facilitate the work to deliver on time, in budget, and within scope; manage program-level risks, dependencies, budget, and escalated issues; and keep business and technology partners engaged and aligned throughout. The modernization is just the beginning. This is a standing leadership role for McKesson's B2B Specialty eCommerce space, not a fixed term assignment: once the new platform is live, you will continue as its delivery leader, driving the execution of the platform's forward roadmap and leading the enhancements, new capabilities, and strategic initiatives that build on the foundation you put in place. This is a chance to help transform how McKesson's Oncology & Multispecialty business serves its customers - and to keep shaping that transformation well beyond launch. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES Program leadership Serve as the Program Manager accountable for leading McKesson's B2B Specialty eCommerce application through a full platform modernization, managing all aspects from pre-planning through implementation, cutover, and post-go-live stabilization. Operate with significant autonomy as the senior point of accountability for the program's delivery, driving complex, high-stakes decisions to resolution in close partnership with leadership. Oversee and manage this large, complex, critical program in partnership with leadership, keeping it aligned to strategic business goals and objectives and regularly assessing whether the outcomes are being met. Lead the teams and partners involved in the program through influence, setting the standard for how the work is delivered and mentoring others on best practices and methodologies. Carry that accountability forward beyond the modernization, leading the ongoing portfolio of enhancements, new capabilities, and strategic initiatives for the B2B Specialty eCommerce space as the platform's long-term delivery leader. Turn the platform's multi-year roadmap into executable plans - sequencing the work, securing the resources, and holding delivery to commitments - and bring the delivery insight, feasibility read, and trade-off analysis that shape what makes the roadmap and in what order. Planning & business alignment Break program objectives down into measurable business outcomes and ensure alignment with business and IT goals and strategy. Partner with program sponsors to gain their support and build the program roadmap, turning goals into concrete plans with timelines and deliverables. Coordinate across all groups involved - business, delivery, technical teams, operations, and change management - to define and manage program scope, and establish appropriate governance in line with organizational policies. Budget management Use advanced tools and techniques to estimate program costs; develop and control the program budget and manage expenditure within agreed spending plans. Continuously monitor actual cost versus budget, evaluate factors that may drive cost changes, and partner with finance and delivery stakeholders to keep budget decisions tied to program priorities and expected results. Stakeholder management & collaboration Act as a trusted advisor to executive sponsors and senior leaders, building strong relationships across the business, technology, and partner teams involved in the program. Lead the program's steering and review cadence - giving executives clear, honest status, surfacing key decisions and trade-offs, and negotiating priorities and program needs. Execution Facilitate program scope trade-off conversations with a broad range of stakeholders, influencing strategic decisions. Identify and manage dependencies within the program, resolving conflicts and optimizing resources; remove roadblocks by working through conflicts and resolving issues. Coordinate and manage the strategic implementation partner delivering the packaged commercial software, holding the vendor accountable for scope, schedule, budget, and quality, and ensuring their work integrates cleanly with McKesson teams and program objectives. Maintain oversight of the entire program lifecycle, collaborating with IT leaders and stakeholders across all SDLC phases, and balance the availability of required skills and competencies across the program. Drive launch readiness, cutover, and go-live, then lead the post-go-live stabilization period to ensure a smooth, low-disruption transition to the new platform. Performance & results Work with business sponsors to track the results the program delivers, confirm the expected benefits are achieved, and find opportunities to deliver more. Maintain the program dashboard and documentation; serve as the first-level escalation path for performance issues; evaluate and optimize overall program performance; facilitate lessons-learned and retrospective sessions and implement the results. Use AI-enabled delivery tools to track progress, anticipate risks, and support faster, better-informed decisions. Risk management Identify and manage risk at the program level, consolidating risks across the program's workstreams; develop and govern program level risk plans, processes, and systems. Oversee creation and execution of action plans for program risks, maintain and review the program issues list, and proactively escalate risks to senior leadership. Change & continuous improvement Lead change management across the program: align sponsors and stakeholders on the vision and benefits, and help teams adopt the new platform and ways of working. Drive continuous improvement by applying proven delivery practices and standards, capturing lessons learned, and using program data and reporting to strengthen how the program runs over time. WHAT YOU'LL BRING 310+ years of program management experience, including several years leading large-scale enterprise technology deployments from strategy through delivery. 311Hands-on experience delivering SAP programs. 312Exceptional written and verbal communication, including a proven ability to brief, influence, and build confidence with executive audiences. 313Proven experience coordinating and managing a systems integrator or implementation partner through a packaged commercial software delivery, holding the vendor accountable to SOW, scope, schedule, budget, and quality commitments. 314Strong command of program management methodologies (Agile and traditional), enterprise delivery tools and frameworks, and delivery governance. 315Hands-on experience running planning, tracking, resource management, and vendor administration through enterprise program and portfolio management tooling - Planview, Smartsheet, Jira, Microsoft Project, and SAP Fieldglass are the platforms in use here. Experience with all of them is not expected; a demonstrated track record with tools of this kind is. 316Comfort using AI-enabled and data-driven delivery tools for planning, tracking, reporting, and risk forecasting. 317Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Business, or a related field, or equivalent combination of education and experience. 318Ability to travel up to 25% of the time. 319You are calm under pressure, resilient through setbacks, and a sharp problem-solver with strong business judgment - someone who brings order, focus, and confidence to a complex, high-stakes program. Preferred Skills/Experience 320SAP Commerce Cloud experience; eCommerce modernization experience, particularly in B2B and/or health care commerce; background in pharmaceutical distribution or another regulated industry 321Master's degree in Business Administration, Computer Science, Information Technology or a related field; 322PMP, PgMP, PMI-ACP, SAFe, Lean Portfolio Management, Agile/Scrum, or equivalent certifications.
