Responsibilities

  • Conduct risk analysis and manage enterprise risk documentation
  • Develop and maintain metrics for project cost, schedule, and performance
  • Prepare RFP packages and acquisition program documentation

Overview

Apogee is seeking aProgram/Acquisition Managerlocated in support of theAir Force Life Cycle Management Center (AFLCMC Weather Systems Branch(HBAW).

This position can be remote with some CONUS travel

Responsibilities
  • Provide PM support for current and future Air Force Weather Expeditionary Weather (ExMET) systems, research and development projects based on current DoD Directives (5000 and 8000 series), NDAA Section 804, and Milestone Decision Authority-approved baseline
  • Provide PM assistancein executing researchand development, procurement, and operations and maintenance contracts and agreements
  • Assist the PM/FM in providing independent analysis to support life cycleplanning and execution.
  • Support all program IPT efforts in identifyingrequirements, developing management approaches for accomplishingeach requirement, supporting special studies concerning those projects, and tracking contract compliance
  • Analyze policy issues/guidance from the Under Secretary of Defense for Acquisition, Technology and Logistics (USD AT&L), SAF/AQ, and PEO impacting program schedules
  • Support coordination and integration of the IPTs, Long Range Plan, and related Vision processes
  • Prepare reports and/or briefings on research, findings, and recommendations to the IPTs, Functional Managers (FM), and senior decision-makers
  • Perform/facilitate risk analysis, risk tracking, and documentation in the enterprise risk management tool
  • Provide inputs for management processes and metrics, manage and process requirements, validateand verify technical proposals and recommended actions, develop and maintainmonthly metrics to show the cost, schedule, and performance of projects
  • PrepareRequest for Proposal (RFP) packages, Military Interdepartmental Purchase Requests (MIPR), milestone documentation, and other acquisition program documentation

Qualifications

Minimum Experience:

Citizenship: Must be a US citizenClearance: Must possess and maintain a Secret clearanceEducation: High School DiplomaYears of Experience: 20 years of relevant experience to include:

  • 8 years supporting the DoD
  • Strong knowledge and experience applying DoD and AF acquisition processes, policies, procedures, and statutory/regulatory requirements
  • Experience managingcritical aspects of acquisitionprograms across the Acquisition Framework
  • Strong understanding of Air Force Weather organizational structure, mission, and relationships
  • Experience communicating oral and written thoughts to senior leaders and business partners

Preferred Qualifications:

Education: Bachelor27s degree and at least 15 years of relevant experience, including at least 5 years supporting the DoD, OR, Master27s degree and at least 12 years of relevant experience, including at least 5 years supporting the DoD
