Program Manager – Aerospace Transparencies

Huntsville, AL

In the Aerospace Transparencies Program Manager role you will be responsible for overseeing the program lifecycle management (PLM) from concept through development into sustainable production and into sunset of aerospace transparencies for fixed wing aircraft and rotorcraft applications (military and commercial). In this role you will be involved in managing cross-functional teams, coordinating with suppliers and customers, ensuring compliance with aerospace standards, and driving program schedules, budgets, and quality objectives to successful completion for a portfolio of programs.

This is a On-site role reporting to the Huntsville, AL facility. In this role you will report to the Site Lead - Program Manager.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead end-to-end program management across the PLM lifecycle (Gates 2-7), driving new product introduction, production, sustainment, and sunset activities while meeting customer requirements, business objectives, budget, schedule, quality, and performance targets.
  • Develop and execute integrated program plans, including schedules, budgets, resource allocation, capital funding requirements, forecasts, and gate reviews, with authority to approve or fail program gates and implement corrective actions as needed.
  • Build, lead, and coordinate cross-functional Integrated Project Teams (IPTs) across Engineering, Manufacturing, Quality, Supply Chain, Procurement, R&D, and Operations to ensure seamless program execution and value stream alignment.
  • Serve as the primary customer interface for all programmatic activities throughout the product lifecycle, leading stakeholder engagement, negotiating technical changes, supporting commercial and contract activities, and ensuring customer satisfaction.
  • Oversee NPI and sustaining production activities, including product design maturation, tooling development, EMD/LRIP/FRP transitions, BOM/BOO and process documentation, NRE efforts, demand forecasting, proposal support, and technical/financial program reviews.
  • Identify, assess, and mitigate program risks while driving continuous improvement initiatives and best practices to maintain schedule adherence, cost performance, operational efficiency, and manufacturing transparency.
  • Ensure compliance with customer requirements, industry regulations (FAA, EASA, MIL-STD), and internal quality standards, while providing regular executive-level reporting on program status, financial performance, schedule health, and risk assessments.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering or related discipline required.
  • Aerospace specific industry experience is preferred.
  • Minimum of Five (5) years of program management or engineering experience in aerospace or defense industries, with specific experience in transparencies or related components.
  • Strong knowledge of aerospace transparency materials (e.g., acrylics, polycarbonates, glass), manufacturing processes, and testing methods preferred.
  • PMP (Project Management Professional) certification strongly preferred
  • Travel 10% - may include international travel.
