Full Job Description
Job Description

Nordstrom is looking for a Program Manager 1 to join the Talent Management & Learning Operations team within HR. This role leads program management for learning operations across TM&L covering catalog oversight, driving LMS and content governance, and contributing to operational improvement across the function. You'll work across HR, business stakeholders, and cross-functional partners to lead small to moderately complex initiatives that span learning operations, talent management systems, and the broader TM&L organization. The ideal candidate is a strategic executor who operates effectively and brings knowledge of learning and talent management concepts, technology and operations to a function that is evolving. This role reports to the Sr. Manager of Program Management, Talent Management & Learning Operations.

A day in the life…

  • Own the program management layer for learning operations — managing dependencies and sequencing across simultaneous workstreams, maintaining visibility into owners and timelines, surfacing conflicts, and driving initiatives to on-time, on-quality delivery

  • Own project management end-to-end for assigned TM&L projects, driving scope, plans, stakeholder alignment, and on-time delivery across learning operations, talent management, and broader TM&L priorities

  • Own learning catalog oversight, including product usage, content curation, category and skills-tagging standards, and quality — identifying underutilization or performance issues as needed

  • Own the LMS governance framework; overseeing system audits, gathering and documenting requirements for system enhancements, managing planning and testing cycles

  • Perform LMS administration, including course setup, deployment support, escalation support and troubleshooting for learning and certification programs, and other administration efforts as needed

  • Contribute to continuous operational improvement across TM&L by developing processes, tools, and templates that streamline how work gets done, drive consistency, and improve overall operational effectiveness across the function

  • Operationalize and maintain system requirements for job-required and general certifications in the system of record, partnering with HR Operations and Talent partners

  • Establish and maintain reporting on the health of TM&L operations by synthesizing data across LMS metrics to surface trends, risks, and improvement opportunities.

You own this if you have…

  • 3+ years of experience in program management, learning operations, or a related field, including demonstrated ability to manage multiple concurrent projects with strong attention to detail

  • Demonstrated ability to build frameworks, governance models, or operational structures that others execute

  • Experience with LMS administration, governance, or system implementation; Workday Learning experience strongly preferred

  • Experience with third-party learning content platforms and/or Workday Skills Cloud

  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and project management tools such as Smartsheet or equivalent

  • Ability to analyze data and translate outputs into actionable insights and clear reporting for leadership audiences

  • Strong ability to influence, communicate effectively and tailor communication to the needs for varying audiences

  • Strong verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills

  • Retail or hospitality industry experience a plus
