  • Prepare and deliver PTME-related content for executive program reviews.
  • Act as the primary manufacturing interface in Product Management Teams to ensure process efficacy for component management.
  • Resolve major manufacturing program issues in coordination with multiple stakeholders.
  • Develop and implement program timing management tools to support lead engineers' needs.
  • Coordinate inputs into program tracking tools to facilitate project management efficiency.
  • Drive completion of MIDAS machine approvals in collaboration with engineering and plant operations teams.
  • Utilize continuous improvement processes to incorporate lessons learned into future manufacturing practices.

Job Description

We are seeking motivated professionals with a passion for excellence in Manufacturing, Problem Solving, and driving robustness into the APD/PTME Engineering factory. This position reports to the APD/PTME Delivery team Program Manager as a Delivery Program Leader. The ideal candidate will have knowledge of PTME program deliverables and will be leading PTME launch teams through all phases of Manufacturing Program Delivery from the early cost study phase through rate of climb (ROC). This position aligns with Ford OS Behaviors of Excellence, Focus & Collaboration. You will work in a cross-functional, technology driven environment and be given opportunities to demonstrate your leadership and communication skills while developing your Ford Leadership Behaviors.

Responsibilities

  • Lead new program teams provide Program Engineering deliverables from Program Strategy Program Strategy Confirmed through completion of Rate of Climb (ROC), by working with all engineering groups within Powertrain Delivery (APD)/Manufacturing Engineering (PTME)/ Battery Manufacturing Engineering (BME), as well as Manufacturing Strategy & Advanced Planning (MSAP), Ford Land, Industrial Engineering, Product Engineering, Supplier Technical Assistance, Powertrain Plants and Purchasing.
  • Lead site-based engineers throughout the delivery of equipment to production readiness.
  • Establish and track timing of commodity team deliverables to meet program milestones (Balkan, OPIC, MIDAS).
  • Ensure weekly New Model program safety walks are conducted from the beginning of facility activities through the commissioning phase of all new model process and process support equipment. (Safety walks can be led by the Delivery Program Leader or a site-based delegate).
  • Identify and coordinate program resource requirements both Ford Internal & External.
  • Participate in new program studies with MSAP from through Program Approval in conjunction with PD and Powertrain Strategy Business Office (PSBO). Participate in studies pre-, as required. Program Leader is also responsible to input costs specifically for Delivery activities and coordinate the input of funds from other groups.
  • Prepare Program Review, Executive Program Business Review (PBR), material and deliver PTME related content at these reviews per the Program Management procedure.
  • Attend Transmission/Engine/Axle Product Management Teams (TPMT/EPMT) meetings as the primary manufacturing interface for PTME/BME to ensure Component Product Management Team (CPMT) process is functioning properly to achieve objectives.
  • Lead resolution of major manufacturing program issues, change control and achievement of program objectives with other organizations (i.e. Product Development, Finance, Planning, STA, etc.), OEM's and External Purchase suppliers.
  • Develop and implement standard detailed program timing management tool that supports needs of lead process engineers with roll up capability to support program management.
  • Coordinate manufacturing input into program tracking tools (e.g., LQOS Charts, Program MS Project Timing File, Global 15 panel/10 Panel/MR, Major Program Status & Issues, Integrator, Indicated Cost, PBR / EPBR, etc.).
  • Drive the completion of all phases of MIDAS machine approvals from the relevant engineers, support teams and plant operations.
  • Incorporate continuous improvements utilizing PTME Continuous Improvement / Lessons Learned, Deviation and Decision Record Process.
  • Travel to Powertrain Manufacturing Plants will be required.


Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering or in similar field (Mechanical, Electrical or Manufacturing Engineering preferred) or equivalent experience.
  • 7-10 Years Experience in high volume production or manufacturing environment.
  • Manufacturing Engineering with plant floor experience required.
  • Project Or Program Management / Coordination / Communication Experience
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office tools, including Excel and PowerPoint.
  • Strong presentation skills with experience creating and delivering presentations.
  • Experience supporting program launches, leading teams throughout launch phases.

Work Requirements:
  • Manufacturing floor related/Manufacturing plant based.
  • Sterling Heights, MI based and travel required to plant site.


This position is leadership level 6 and ranges from $115,500-$218,100.

Final determination of salary grade will be based on candidate's skills and experience, and base salary will be set within the applicable range according to job scope, responsibility and competitive market value.

This position is hybrid. Candidates who are in commuting distance to a Ford hub location may be required to be onsite four or more days per week.
