Program Director - Epic Readiness, Implementation Planning & Cost Modelling) -REMOTE
Role and Responsibilities This role is essential to translate strategy into a fully defined implementation plan, cost model, and staffing model prior to Epic engagement. Epic does not account for all implementation costs (e.g., go-live support, infrastructure, service desk scaling). This role ensures the organization has a complete and defensible funding model and implementation plan.
Core Responsibilities- Lead Epic readiness and implementation planning across DMHAS and partner hospitals
- Analyze Epic workbooks to define:
- Scope
- Complexity drivers
- Timeline assumptions
- Determine module scope (e.g., Wisdom, Cupid, Rehab, LTC, etc.)
- Build comprehensive cost model, including:
- Epic costs
- NON-Epic costs (go-live support, service desk, infrastructure, integration)
- Develop staffing model across all phases:
- Pre-implementation
- Implementation
- Go-live support
- Post-go-live sustainment
- Define:
- Implementation waves and sequencing
- Infrastructure readiness (Citrix/VDI, ServiceNow, integration)
- Align all inputs into a cohesive implementation roadmap and funding request

- Requirements 14 build plan
Cost Modeling Experience developing:
Full lifecycle cost models
Must include:
- Implementation AND non-implementation costs
Ability to identify:
- What vendors (like Epic) do NOT include
Staffing Model DevelopmentBuilt staffing models for:
- Implementation
- Go-live support (at-the-elbow)
- Post-go-live sustainment
Technical + Infrastructure AwarenessMust understand:
- VDI / Citrix environments
- Service desk scaling (ServiceNow or equivalent)
- Integration architecture (HL7/FHIR concepts)
Preferred- Program / Delivery Leadership
- PMP (Program Management Professional)
- PMP (expected baseline)
