SummaryThis position is located in the Bureau of Administration, Directorate of Domestic Operations and Emergency Services. Incumbent will serve as a senior level analyst and authoritative advisor reporting to the Chief of Staff for the Deputy Assistant Secretary, Managing Directors, COS, and A/DOES Office Directors on a wide variety of major issues involving the development, implementation, monitoring, evaluation and modification of the Bureau of Administration's operational plans.
DutiesHelp
- Works in close coordination with the DAS and other key officials to provide a multi -disciplinary approach spanning organizational functions to a broad-range of the most challenging administrative, technical and analytical issues.
- Oversees revision/updates to DOES-centric procedures and assist with the formulation, revision, and implementation of policies and programs.
- Advises the DAS on challenging problems, conducts substantial in-depth studies and recommends strategies or approaches for consideration and action.
- Ensures the integration and knowledge sharing of valuable information resources across the organization via processes and information systems.
- Develops formal and informal lines of communication with all areas of the Department and other U.S. Government Agencies having an interest in, or a responsibility for providing any element of administrative and logistical support needed by DOES.

Time-In-Grade Requirements: Federal applicants must have served 52 weeks at the next lower grade to satisfy time-in-grade restrictions, per 5CFR 300, Subpart F.
Applicants must have 1 year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-13 level in the Federal service which provided the applicant with the particular knowledge, skills and abilities to perform the duties of the position.
Qualifying specialized experience must demonstrate the following:- Experience receiving, digesting, and communicating complex information both orally and in writing.
- Experience coordinating and advising on work efforts and projects, working effectively with senior management and colleagues to meet deadlines and satisfy both internal and external requirements.
- Experience with customer service that is focused on delivering high-quality products and services.
- Experience in developing and maintaining key professional relationships to keep everyone in the loop and tasks on track.
There is no substitute of education for specialized experience for the GS-14 position.
