Department School of Teacher Education - Anne Spencer Daves College of Education, Health, and Human Sciences
Responsibilities - Provide leadership and strategic direction for all academic programs in the School
- Lead and enhance the School's strategic efforts for research productivity and excellence
- Lead the effort for identifying the major priorities of the School, including the combined BS/MS pathways in teacher education, and other graduate programs (e.g., PhD and master's)
- Align the School's strategic planning goals with the strategic plans of the University and the College
- Manage budgetary, personnel, and other departmental resources
- Foster and maintain a supportive environment for all faculty, staff, and students in the School
- Provide leadership and direction for creating an environment of transparency and open communication within the School
- Enhance the rigor and quality of research in the School, as well as the opportunities for PhD students
- Collaborate with the Director of the Florida Center for Reading Research and the Learning Systems Institute to continue developing productive research partnerships that promote the work of faculty in the department
- Lead efforts to build relationships within and outside the University that lead to the betterment of the College, and the well-being of the community and the region
Qualifications - Earned doctorate from one of the educational disciplines found within the School, or a closely-related field.
- A record of scholarly accomplishments consistent with the rank of full professor with tenure; exceptionally qualified candidates may also be considered for the Mack and Effie Campbell Distinguished Professorship.
Preferred Qualifications - Previous experience in academic leadership, including budgetary oversight and management
- Broad research knowledge and experience at Research 1 universities-to understand, guide, and communicate with faculty working in different fields within various paradigms and methodologies
- Experience as a leader for faculty members' professional development and growth.
- Experience with building and maintaining relationships with K-12 and community agency field partners and field-placement management
- Demonstrated commitment to faculty development and advancement

The roots of FSU's Anne Spencer Daves College of Education, Health, and Human Sciences date back to the university's establishment, and it is the oldest college of its kind in Florida. The College is home to six academic departments united through a common goal to maximize human potential. In total, the College includes the Department of Educational Leadership & Policy Studies, Department of Educational Psychology & Learning Systems, Department of Human Development & Family Sciences, Department of Health, Nutrition & Food Sciences, Department of Sport Management, School of Teacher Education, numerous research centers, and three laboratory schools (Florida State University School, FSU Pembroke Pines Charter School, and The Collegiate School at FSU Panama City).
