Job Requirements

Education

Required
• Bachelors' degree in an appropriate field such as Occupational Health and Safety, Industrial Hygiene, or related fields

Experience

Required
• 4 years of progressively responsible experience with administration and support of robust safety programs, OSHA, NFPA, DOT regulations, and Virginia Asbestos regulations or equivalent combination of education and experience
• Performs industrial hygiene sampling, respirator fit testing, and audiometric testing

Desired
• Ability to operate overhead cranes, mobile elevated work platforms, truck cranes, and heavy equipment such as a forklift, telehandler and skid steer
• Familiarity with water/wastewater industry and processes

Licenses and Certifications Requirements
• Valid driver's license from state of residence

The following certifications and licenses must be obtained within the first two years of employment:
• Occupational Health and Safety Technician (OHST), Certified Safety Professional (CSP), Associated Safety Professional (ASP) or Certified Industrial Hygienist (CIH)
• American Heart Association CPR/First Aid Instructor Certification
• CAOHC Occupational Hearing Conservationist
• Virginia Asbestos Inspector and Supervisor License
• Certified Telehandler and Mobile Elevated Work Platform Train the Trainer
• Certified Decision Driving Instructor
• Certified VDOT Work Zone Basic Traffic Control Training Instructor
