Flightdeck Integration and Human Factors: Human Factors and Ergonomics - Professional

You will join the Flight Deck Design and Human Factors team.

In this group, we ensure that the design of aircraft hardware, software, human tasks, and work environment are compatible with the perceptual, cognitive, and physical attributes of the personnel who will assemble, operate, and support it. We are responsible for the User Centered Design and certification of the Flight deck, including avionics Human Machine Interfaces and other equipment used by the pilots

What are your contributions to the team?

You will participate and gain autonomy in a vast range of Human Factors related activities, covering:
  • Physical (3D model, vision, anthropometry) and cognitive ergonomics
  • Components design and specifications
  • HMI design, evaluation and documentation
  • Alerting, automation and interfaces management
  • Tasks analysis, human error analysis
  • Tests preparation and execution


In this context, you will also:
  • Coordinate with team members, system integrators, core functions, and suppliers.
  • Provides support to multiple programs / platforms.
  • Prepare and conduct development and certification testing (bench, simulator, or aircraft).
  • Act as a trained observer, analyze test data, and consolidate reports.
  • Support safety-related activities.
  • Conduct design review, validation and verification of requirements.


How to thrive in this role?

  • You possess a Bachelor's degree in Engineering or equivalent and training or courses in Human Factors.
  • You're motivated to expand your theoretical knowledge in Human Factors and by registering to additional courses, such as a micro-program or Master
  • You have at least 3 years of experience related to the above-mentioned activities, completed by a good general knowledge of Flight deck systems / environment, or Avionics development and integration.
  • You have specific knowledge or experience with Flight Operation (e.g. pilot, controller, dispatch, trainer, flight test engineer, mechanics, simulation) and aerospace regulations.
  • You have demonstrated interest in Flight deck and HMI design and built knowledge about related standards (MIL STD, SAE ARP, ARINC, etc.) and principles.

Additionally,
  • You possess good technical writing, communication and oral presentation skills (English, French).
  • You are resourceful, capable of absorbing a large quantity of information, and able to plan and execute experiments, evaluations, and tests for validation and verification.
  • You are an organized and self-motivated team player, capable of working with or without supervision.
  • You are able to work under pressure and adjust to changing and competing priorities.
  • You show initiative, efficiency, have a strong sense of responsibility and integrity, good interpersonal communication skills, and technical judgment.
