ABOUT THE ROLEThe Professional Engineer is responsible for the structural design of precast concrete systems and ensuring all engineering deliverables meet safety, quality, and code requirements. This role leads project design efforts, reviews and seals calculations and drawings, and provides technical guidance across multidisciplinary teams. In addition, the Professional Engineer supports project execution, client coordination, and continuous improvement across engineering processes.

WHAT YOU'LL DO - Design and analyze precast concrete structures to ensure safety, performance, and code compliance
- Review, approve, and seal engineering calculations, drawings, and design documents as required
- Lead and oversee project design teams to meet engineering milestones and deliverables
- Provide mentorship and technical guidance to junior and entry-level engineers
- Collaborate with architects, contractors, owners, and internal departments to develop solutions
- Interpret architectural and structural drawings and perform required engineering calculations
- Identify and resolve design, constructability, and schedule-related issues
- Support sales and estimating teams with engineering input for prospective projects
- Conduct site and plant visits to support fabrication and construction activities
- Develop and implement remedial solutions for project issues and design challenges

IDEAL CANDIDATES WILL HAVE - Active Professional Engineer (PE) license required
- Bachelor's degree in Civil or Structural Engineering from an ABET-accredited program
- 5+ years of experience in structural or precast concrete design preferred
- Strong proficiency with engineering and design software (Revit, AutoCAD, Mathcad, Bluebeam, RISA, ROBOT, Eriksson suite)
- Strong understanding of structural analysis, load calculations, and design codes
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills across technical and non-technical teams
- Strong organizational and time management skills with the ability to manage multiple projects
- Ability to problem-solve quickly and make sound technical decisions
- Self-motivated with the ability to work independently and lead design efforts
- Ability to meet deadlines in a fast-paced, project-driven environment
WORKING CONDITIONS/PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS - Occasional visits to active plant and field locations are required based on operational needs.
- Ability to wear all required PPE, including but not limited to safety boots, safety glasses, hearing protection, high visibility vest, hard hat, and other PPE as required while in the plant and field.
- Must be able to stand, walk, and navigate active plant and field environments as needed.
- Must be able to climb stairs, walk on uneven surfaces, and safely move through industrial work areas.
- May be exposed to moving equipment, machinery, and other standard industrial hazards.
- May be exposed to outdoor weather conditions, including heat, cold, wind, rain, as well as noise, dust, and vibration.
