Responsibilities

  • Manage daily workload to meet production goals and deadlines.
  • Lead team huddles to enhance communication and morale.
  • Update team performance boards with relevant charts and information.
  • Assist team on the production line as needed to achieve goals.
  • Report and assist with safety and environmental compliance issues.
  • Approve designs for custom awards in production.
  • Track and escalate abnormalities in production processes.
  • Conduct audits to ensure adherence to standardized work protocols.
  • Provide immediate feedback and coaching to team members monthly.
  • Collaborate with Group Leader on team performance and training needs.
  • Cover for the Group Leader when unavailable, ensuring continuity in operations.
  • Participate in strategy deployment and cost-saving improvement projects.

Full Job Description
Production Tooling Technical Team Leader

Responsibilities:

Daily Workload

  • Manage daily workload to ensure on-time delivery and daily goals.


  • Lead huddles and help foster positive team morale.


  • Update the team board with charts, goals, and other information as needed.


  • When needed, work in the line to help the team meet production goals.


  • Report safety/environmental compliance issues and assist with safety investigations as needed.


  • Approve new designs for custom award production.


Abnormalities

  • Respond to and track abnormalities (e.g., on a time bucket board, in the QED system).


  • Escalate and help resolve abnormalities as needed.


Standardized Work

  • Help define, follow, and reinforce the execution of standardized work.


  • Conduct audits on defined standardized work.


Leadership

  • Use and follow Leader Standard Work.


  • Provide on-the-spot feedback and monthly in-line coaching to every team member; take notes and follow-up on action items when needed.


  • Regularly check and respond to emails, Teams messages, Jiras, and other communication as needed.


  • Collaborate with the Group Leader about individual and team performance, abnormalities, improvement projects, training needs, and other matters as applicable.


  • Cover huddles and other responsibilities when the Group Leader is unavailable.


Improvements/Problem-Solving

  • Respond to improvement ideas using Jira and escalate issues as needed.


  • Participate and help with strategy deployment, improvement, and cost-savings projects, present project results to leadership.


  • Work with Engineering, Award Design and Refinery to improve processes.


  • Support Machine Shop process.


Required Qualifications:

  • Basic computer skills


  • Effective written and verbal communication skills


  • Effective problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.


Preferred Qualifications:

  • Basic Cad skills on Master cam software.


  • Basic CNC Mill operation.


  • 6-months experience working in a manufacturing environment


  • Demonstrated ability to lead a team or project.


  • Demonstrated ability to foster positive team morale.


  • Is motivated to learn, develop, and grow.
