This position requires the successful candidate to work on a W2 directly with FDM. We cannot accept C2C, 1099 or employment sponsorship (e.g. H1-B) for this position.

FDM is seeking a Senior Production Support Engineer located in Salt Lake City, Utah to support a project in the Financial sector. Involvement in this project is anticipated to last initially 2 years but may be extended.

This role will be hybrid with requirements to be in office 3 days per week.

This is a position of Production Management team in Utah supporting the Client Portfolio Risk and Margin plant that covers both the Institutional and Margin and Risk business across PB Hedge Funds, OTC Derivatives, Listed, Commodities and FX desks, including weekend oncall and business escalation. The Production Management team is the global group responsible for ensuring optimal performance and stability of applications and infrastructure providing critical IT services to multiple businesses and product lines at the client.

The role offers a fast-paced and interesting mix of technical and business challenges, allowing the holder to develop an in-depth understanding of the clients technologies and businesses. While direct experience with these systems and business lines is not essential, the role requires these skills and knowledge to be developed over time. The team operates on a global, follow-the-sun basis that includes weekend coverage on rotation.

Core Responsibilities

  • Monitor and respond to user-reported issues and infrastructure alerts promptly and professionally, ensuring issues are tracked through resolution.
  • Manage incidents efficiently, providing accurate communication to impacted groups and ensuring timely resolution.
  • Facilitate root cause investigations and implement corrective and preventative measures.
  • Provide support coverage across North America, Asia, and Europe market hours, including weekend pre-open readiness checks.
  • Proactively identify, investigate, and respond to system failures and service disruptions.
  • Partner with development teams to improve system stability, operational excellence, and process efficiency.
  • Maintain current and forward-looking team knowledge of systems, tools, and processes.
  • Respond urgently and effectively to regulatory and compliance-related issues.
  • Coordinate with external technology vendors and exchanges to manage changes and resolve connectivity and market data issues.
  • Review, execute, and validate production changes in accordance with documented change management procedures.
  • Participate in planned technology events, including business continuity and disaster recovery testing, ensuring recovery procedures are accurate and complete.
  • Identify opportunities to simplify, automate, and eliminate operational inefficiencies using available tools and resources.


Required Skills
