Airgas is Hiring for a Production Supervisor II in Santa Fe Springs, CA!

The Production Supervisor II will coordinate the cylinder filling to optimize safe cylinder handling. Before out-off, fill the cylinder on stock. After out-off, fill the cylinder to support customer requirements.
  • Performs filling operations according to operations plan: collaborates to ensure filling start up and stop in a safe manner, follows the procedure and coordinates parameters: connection and disconnection of the cylinders, the handling of all the valves needed to fill the cylinders or bundles with the right content, alongside key tasks like analysis, batch numbering, label application, and completing forms for traceability
  • Monitors and guides parameters, performs tests and checks physical data for excellent production in quality and quantity and supports corrective operations while parameters are not fully aligned
  • Serves as a supportive first responder in emergency situation and initiates safety procedures & keeps the management informed for any safety and/or activity issue
  • Coordinates primary & secondary cylinder handling operations by performing operations according to plan for the empty cylinders, the unloading of the trucks, the selection (sorting) of the cylinders, the reviewing of the test date and the overall aspect of the cylinder, and the positioning in the empty buffer zone waiting for filling. For the full cylinders, it includes the picking of the cylinders according to the customer's orders, taking the cylinders from the full buffer zone or from the full stock, and the loading the trucks. All forklift activity linked to secondary distribution is included.
  • Collaborates to maintain operations compliance to safety procedure, in particular for lock-out and confined spaces.
  • Prioritizes the use of protective equipment.
  • Supports day-to-day adherence to quality procedures for process and for final product analysis and contributes to the fulfilment of analytic plans.
  • Completes the operations book and administrative documentation, enters all the daily production data in the system, tracks production events, completes and shares incident reports and reviews Standard Operating Procedures, P&ID's, PFD's, and all other technical documentation as related to plant specific equipment
  • Participates in the process improvement by identifying process and procedure improvement from incident analysis, recognizing situational risks, and proposing collaborative changes regarding Safety or productivity

Required Qualifications:
  • Minimum of three to five years industry related experience and/or training.
  • Experience and working knowledge of cylinder fill operations or similar industrial production industry.
  • Must be proficient in operation of forklift and maintain appropriate forklift certifications.
  • Must be able to work flexible hours and meet customer needs.
  • Ability to work independently and under some pressure to meet deadlines.
  • Demonstrates a clear and effective speaking manner for the purpose of explaining information to customers and employees.
  • Experience leading teams in a production environment.
  • Must be able to wear required personal protective equipment and operate in a drug-free workplace.


Preferred Qualifications:
  • Bachelor Degree in engineering, operations, etc. preferred.
  • High school degree or the equivalent preferred, with two to three years related experience in similar industry and/or training or equivalent combination of education and experience.

The annual base salary range for this position in California is $85,000.00. Please note that the salary information is a general guideline only. Airgas considers factors such as (but not limited to) scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate's work experience, education/ training, key skills as well as market and business considerations when extending an offer.
