Position Overview:

Join Siemens Mobility Rolling Stock as a 2nd Shift Production Supervisor and lead a team that helps build critical bogie systems for rail vehicles serving transit customers across North America. This hands-on leadership role is responsible for driving safe, high-quality, and efficient assembly operations while developing employees, promoting accountability, and supporting continuous improvement initiatives. Working closely with Quality, Engineering, Scheduling, Procurement, and other production teams, you will play an important role in meeting customer commitments and ensuring operational success, while providing support to machining and welding operations as needed.

What your day may look like:
  • Lead, coach, and develop a production team through performance management, training, and ongoing feedback while fostering a culture of accountability, ownership, and engagement.
  • Plan, coordinate, and prioritize bogie assembly operations to meet production schedules, quality standards, inspection requirements, and shipping commitments.
  • Monitor production performance, identify constraints, investigate root causes of issues, and implement corrective actions that improve safety, quality, and productivity.
  • Provide leadership and technical support to assembly operations while partnering with machining, welding, Quality, Engineering, Scheduling, and Procurement teams to resolve challenges and drive results.
  • Champion a Zero Harm culture by ensuring compliance with safety procedures, PPE requirements, company policies, and continuous improvement initiatives.

What will make you successful in this role:
  • High school diploma or GED required; Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Manufacturing, or a related field preferred.
  • 5+ years of production supervision experience in a manufacturing environment, with a proven ability to lead, coach, and develop hourly teams while fostering accountability, engagement, and a strong safety culture.
  • Demonstrated success driving improvements in safety, quality, schedule adherence, productivity, and cost through continuous improvement initiatives and data-driven decision-making.
  • Strong leadership, communication, and team-building skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across Production, Quality, Engineering, Scheduling, Procurement, and other support functions.
  • Experience interpreting engineering drawings and specifications, troubleshooting production challenges, and implementing effective corrective actions; working knowledge of mechanical and electrical assembly processes, proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, and SAP experience preferred.
  • Rail or rolling stock manufacturing experience is a plus.

The pay range for this position is $103,274.00 - $139,415.00 annually. The actual wage offered may be lower or higher depending on budget and candidate experience, knowledge, skills, qualifications, and premium geographic location.
