JOB SUMMARY
Tekni-Plex Healthcare is seeking an experienced Production Supervisor 3rd Shift for our facility located in Sparks, NV. The successful candidate will oversee production operations, ensuring adherence to company standards in quality, safety, efficiency, cost management, and profitability. This role will report directly to the Production Manager. The salary range for this role is $80,000 to $110,000 annually. Pay is based on experience.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Supervise and manage shift production employees, ensuring compliance with company policies and procedures.
- Achieve production and safety objectives while maintaining high standards for quality and efficiency.
- Oversee the operation of production lines, ensuring adherence to company procedures and effective use of industrial software and ladder logic.
- Utilize the ERP system to manage raw material usage, inventory (both raw materials and finished goods), machine hours, and order closures.
- Lead and participate in continuous improvement initiatives aimed at reducing costs and enhancing productivity.
- Conduct initial investigations into internal rejections and other production issues, and report findings as required.
- Maintain, compile, and summarize shift production documentation.
- Provide hands-on training, motivation, and performance evaluation for production employees.
- Identify and address equipment deficiencies in collaboration with the maintenance team.
- Ensure production lines are properly supplied and prepared for operation.
- Be available to work additional hours as needed to meet production demands.
- Develop and maintain effective relationships with employees, management, and vendors.
- Maintain comprehensive knowledge of all processes and equipment to provide immediate and effective troubleshooting support.
Supervisor Responsibilities:- Directly supervise 4 to 6 employees, executing supervisory duties in accordance with organizational policies and applicable laws.
- Responsibilities include training staff; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; and addressing complaints and resolving issues.
Position Requirements:- 3 years of manufacturing experience
- 2 years of experience leading and directing employees
- High School diploma or GED
- Experience in plastic compounding or extrusion is highly desired
- Bilingual in English and Spanish is a plus
- Strong safety culture background
- Proven experience in manufacturing projects
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and general computer operations
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Detail-oriented with well-developed organizational skills

Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and legibly complete time cards and work orders. Ability to read, analyze, and interpret technical procedures and read blueprints and technical drawings, such as machine, mechanical, pneumatic, hydraulic, and electrical. MATHEMATICAL SKILLS
Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent. Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra, geometry, fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.
REASONING ABILITY
Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of variable in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form. Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form.
