Resource Label Group is seeking a
Production Supervisor for our
2nd Shift to join our team in Des Plaines, IL. This position will have responsibilities overseeing the 2nd shift operations teams. They will directly influence a positive work environment that drives a proactive culture of safety and employee engagement, while providing leadership to the overall operations of the Pamco Label facility.
Responsibilities:- Inspects plates, web and other materials to be used in producing a job to verify conformance to specifications and is responsible for verifying color match of jobs to job specs.
- Checks production schedule and verifies plates, inks and other required materials are available in advance of an order going to a Press Operator.
- Directs setup and adjustments of presses with high attention to detail.
- Consistently maintains equipment and may make minor repairs when necessary.
- Studies production schedules and estimates worker hour requirements for completion of job assignment.
- Holds a strong understanding of company policies to workers and enforces safety regulations.
- Interprets specifications and job orders for workers and assigns duties, establishes or adjusts work procedures to meet production schedules.
- Recommends measures to improve production methods, equipment performance and quality of product.
- Responsible for implementing and following Lean Manufacturing procedures and is a member of one or more Lean manufacturing development and implementation committees.
- Suggests changes in working conditions and use of equipment to increase efficiency and/or reduce setup time, equipment downtime and production scrap.
- Analyzes and resolves work problems or assists workers in solving work problems.
- Initiates or suggests plans to motivate workers to achieve work goals and provides training and guidance.
- Trains new Press Operators on proper and safe use of tools and equipment.
- Maintains production records in an efficient and organized manner .
- Confers with other members of the management team to coordinate activities of individual departments.
- Performs activities of workers supervised as needed.
- Keeps work areas clear and organized; maintains housekeeping standards.
Supervisory Responsibilities:- Directly supervises personnel working the 2nd Shift
- Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws.
- Responsibilities include training employees; planning, assigning and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.
The Ideal Candidate Will:- Synthesize complex or diverse information. Collects and researches data, while using intuition and experience to complement data. Design workflows and procedures.
- Generate creative solutions, translating concepts and information into images. Use feedback to modify designs & apply design principles, while demonstrating strong attention to detail.
- Identify and resolve problems in a timely manner. Gather and analyze information skillfully. Able to assess own strengths and weaknesses while striving to continuously build team knowledge and skills.
- Communicates change effectively; develops workable implementation plans. Builds commitment and overcomes resistance. Monitors transition and evaluates results.
- Effectively develop and implement cost saving measures. Contribute to profits and revenue and conserve organizational resources.
- Have experience of utilizing Lean Six Sigma tools & techniques.
- Have a minimum of 5 years' experience leading a production team.
- Understand Continuous Improvement principles and can Manage CI projects.
Qualifications:- A minimum of five (5) years of related supervisory experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Five years of Mark Andy or Flexo Press experience is required.
- Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions and procedure manuals.
- Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees.
- Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference and volume. Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.
- Position may require a Lift Truck Operator's Certification.
- Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.
- Must have a solid working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications including Work, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook.
Posted Pay Range: $80,000 - $90,000
