Full Job Description

Our team is looking for a Production Supervisor for the second shift 2:30pm-11:00 pm 2-

The Production Supervisor position is responsible for managing and directing an
assembly department, test lab, machine shop in an ISO9000/AS-9100 certified
aerospace company. The assembly department produces moderate to complex
assemblies, a test lab that specializes in fuel/hydraulic ATP procedures, and a machine shop that supports in process assembly and/or precision finishing of component parts.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND BASIC DUTIES FOR THIS JOB:

  • Manage and supervise assembly, test lab, and machine shop activities daily, assure that
    all policies are consistently adhered to
  • Will exercise independent judgment and discretion in the performance of duties
  • Work effectively with employees, co-workers, management, customers and others
  • Share ideas in a constructive and positive manner, listen to and objectively considers ideas and suggestions from others
  • Keep commitments; keep others informed of work progress, timetables and issues
  • Address problems and issues constructively to find mutually acceptable and practical solutions.
  • Managing daily production schedules, staffing, and priorities
  • Improving capacity utilization and labor efficiency on off-shifts
  • Coaching, mentoring, and holding teams accountable for performance and safety
  • Drive shift-to-shift communication and ensure continuity with 1st shift leadership
  • Track and improve KPIs such as throughput, on-time delivery, and efficiency
  • Performing root cause analysis and implementing corrective actions
  • Understanding of documentation requirements, traceability, and inspection sign-offs

Main Qualifications:

  • Associates or Bachelors degree in Aerospace, Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing, or related technical field (or equivalent hands-on experience)
  • 2 67+ years of leadership or supervisory experience in a production environment
  • Strong understanding of aerospace quality systems such as AS9100 and customer/regulatory requirements
  • 5 10 years in aerospace manufacturing, with direct exposure to paint/coatings operations
  • Deep knowledge of surface preparation, masking, priming, and topcoat application processes. Understanding of paint/coating thickness measurement
  • Working knowledge of spray equipment, booths, curing ovens, and environmental controls
  • Proven ability to lead 2nd shift operations with minimal supervision
  • Strong decision-making and problem-solving skills in a fast-paced environment
  • Experience with Lean Manufacturing, 5S, and continuous improvement initiatives
  • Familiarity with ERP/MES systems for work orders, routing, and production tracking
  • Ability to interpret engineering drawings, work instructions, and coating specifications
