Responsibilities

  • Monitor production activities to minimize delays and adhere to schedules
  • Assist in achieving production objectives at optimal cost while maintaining quality
  • Ensure safety and product quality while improving procedures
  • Coordinate workflow across involved departments
  • Report any damaged or defective equipment to management
  • Train employees in day-to-day procedures
  • Maintain quality and quantity standards for output
  • Analyze work orders for estimating hours and scheduling machinist tasks
  • Interpret specifications and assign duties to workers
  • Plan material flow according to work orders
  • Interface with other departments to meet customer deadlines
  • Inspect parts and products for specification compliance
  • Direct machine adjustments for products failing to meet standards
  • Adjust work procedures to meet production schedules
  • Develop recommendations for improving methods and equipment performance
  • Suggest changes to enhance shop and crew efficiency
  • Analyze and assist in resolving work-related issues
  • Maintain time and production records
  • Assist with justifying capital equipment for improvement projects
  • Perform other assigned duties as needed.

Full Job Description
Shift: 2nd Shift

Location: Faribault MN (on-site)

Your Responsibilities:
  • Monitors production activities to eliminate delays and ensure adherence to production and shipping schedules
  • Assists in carrying out production objectives at the lowest cost, consistent with the organization's quality requirements
  • Assures safety and product quality while improving production procedures
  • Coordinates work flow with the various departments involved
  • Reports damaged and defective equipment to management
  • Trains other employees in day to day procedures
  • Maintains quality/quantity standards regarding output
  • Analyzes work orders to estimate worker hours and create machining schedules that meet both internal and external needs
  • Interprets specifications, blueprints, and job orders to workers, and assigns duties
  • Plans flow of materials through department according to work orders
  • Interfaces with others in the organization to ensure customer deadlines are met
  • Inspects and measures parts and products to verify conformance to specifications
  • Directs workers in adjusting machines and equipment to repair products that fail to meet standards
  • Establishes or adjusts work procedures to meet production schedules
  • Develops, recommends, and implements measures to improve production methods, equipment performance, and quality of product
  • Suggests changes in working conditions and use of equipment to increase efficiency of shop, department, or work crew
  • Analyzes and resolves work problems, or assists workers in solving work problems.
  • Maintains time and production records
  • Assists with capital equipment justifications for machine tools and process technology to improve quality, cost, and cycle times
  • Other duties as assigned

Your Qualifications:
  • High School diploma or equivalent
  • 5+ years of related experience in manufacturing
  • Bachelor's Degree in related field (preferred)
  • 3+ years of direct supervisory experience (preferred)

The typical annual base salary for this position ranges from $66,000 to $108,000. The range displayed represents the pay range for all positions in the job grade which this position falls. Individual base pay will depend on a wide range of factors including your skills, qualifications, experience, and location.
