The OpportunityThis position works out of our Woodridge, St Paul, MN, location in the Structural Heart Business.
Main Purpose of RoleAt Abbott, you will lead a team of manufacturing associates in a cleanroom or controlled environment, ensuring the production of high-quality medical devices. You will be responsible for fostering a culture of accountability, engagement, and continuous improvement while applying Lean Manufacturing principles to drive operational excellence.
What You'll Work On- Supervise day-to-day operations on the manufacturing floor, ensuring safety, quality, and productivity targets are met.
- Champion Abbott's cultural values by promoting a positive, inclusive, and high-performance work environment.
- Lead and coach team members in Lean tools such as 5S, Standard Work, Visual Management, and Root Cause Analysis.
- Identify and eliminate waste through continuous improvement initiatives and kaizen events.
- Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) and implement corrective actions to improve efficiency and reduce variability.
- Ensure compliance with FDA regulations, ISO 13485, and internal quality standards.
- Collaborate cross-functionally with Quality, Engineering, and Supply Chain to resolve issues and support new product introductions.
- Conduct performance reviews, provide feedback, and support employee development and training.
- Maintain accurate documentation and support audits and inspections.
- In addition to the duties of a grade 14 supervisor, a grade 15 supervisor has demonstrated leadership capabilities in the areas of lean systems and Tier meetings, to the point where they become a training resource for other areas within the building.
- Able to teach others how their teams performance ties to the financial outcomes monthly and ability to support the financial planning process.
- Ability to identify opportunities within the financial outcomes that are within their control and propose cost improvement projects.
ShiftMonday - Thursday, 3:00 PM - 1:30 AM
Required Qualifications- Bachelor's degree in engineering, operations, life sciences, or a related field preferred.
- Minimum 3-5 years of experience in a regulated manufacturing environment (medical device or pharmaceutical preferred).
- Minimum 1-2 years in a supervisory or leadership role.
- Knowledge of:
FDA regulations, ISO 13485, and GMP.
Lean Manufacturing principles and tools.
Cleanroom operations and contamination control.
- Strong leadership and team-building capabilities.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Analytical mindset with a focus on continuous improvement.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
Preferred Qualifications- Certifications (preferred): Lean Six Sigma Green Belt or higher.
