Highlights of the Role- Safety Leadership: Take responsibility for safety, performance and ensuring your team has the tools, clarity and support to work safely every day.
- Operational Excellence: Oversee sawmill operations with a focus on productivity, quality and cost control. Manage competing demands and maintain operational flow.
- Team Development: Coach supervisors, lead hands and operators empowering them to lead at their level while maintaining alignment with mill objectives.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work seamlessly with maintenance, process control and sales teams to optimize value and outcome.
- Environmental Stewardship: Support environmental compliance including dust systems, storm water and process water management.
- Continuous Improvement: Drive improvement initiatives and support capital projects using clear communication and clear plans ensuring alignment with senior leadership.
What You Offer- Experience: 5-10 years in manufacturing operations, including 5+ years in a supervisory role.
- Leadership Potential: Strong supervisory experience within manufacturing with the drive to grow into a senior operational role. You lead with humility, ownership and a willingness to learn.
- Manufacturing Knowledge: Solid understanding of sawmill or industrial manufacturing processes.
- Communication Skills: Ability to communicate clearly, consistently and simply ensuring alignment and shared understanding across teams with frequent follow up and follow through.
- Growth Mindset: Openness to coaching, development and applying leadership principles to elevate team performance.
- Must have a valid driver's license, reliable vehicle and be willing to relocate to the Elk Lake area
