Requisition Summary

DIRECTS UNIT MANAGERS IN A LARGE MANUFACTURING AREA TO ATTAIN MATERIALS, SAFETY, AND QUALITY OBJECTIVES. MUST BE ABLE TO WORK ANY SHIFT.

Job Functions / Responsibilities

  • ASSIGNS WORK TO SALARIED SHOP PERSONNEL BY INSTRUCTING UNIT MANAGER(S) IN ACCORDANCE WITH PRODUCTION OBJECTIVES.
  • PLANS, ORGANIZES AND IMPLEMENTS PROCEDURES TO MEET PRODUCTION SCHEDULES.
  • MANAGES PROCESSING EFFORTS, RECOMMENDS OR INITIATES IMPROVEMENTS IN MATERIAL HANDLING METHODS, QUALITY, EQUIPMENT, OPERATING EFFICIENCY AND WORKING CONDITIONS.
  • DIRECTS PROPER STAFFING, TRAINING, MOTIVATION AND SAFETY OF ASSIGNED EMPLOYEES,
  • INITIATES OR APPROVES PERSONNEL ACTIONS INCLUDING PROMOTIONS, TRANSFERS, DISCIPLINARY MEASURES, ETC., IN ACCORDANCE WITH COMPANY POLICIES AND PROCEDURES.
  • PREPARES OR DIRECTS PREPARATION OR REPORTS FOR MANAGEMENT AND COORDINATES ACTIVITIES WITH OTHER DEPARTMENTS AS NECESSARY.
  • MANAGES PROCESS IMPROVEMENT EFFORTS SUCH AS: HIKE EVENTS, 5S, LINE DAMAGE AUDITS, SCRAP REDUCTION, REPETITIVE DPU REDUCTION, KAIZEN EVENTS, AND OUTSOURCING OPPORTUNITIES.
  • PROVIDES SUPPORT FOR NEW PRODUCTION IMPLEMENTATION.
  • PROVIDES COVERAGE FOR AREA MANAGERS ACROSS BOTH SHIFTS.
  • MAY RECOMMEND CAPITAL EXPENDITURE IMPROVEMENTS AND PERFORM OTHER JOB DUTIES AS ASSIGNED
  • ESTABLISH LONG-TERM LEADERSHIP GOALS.
  • PERFORM OTHER DUTIES AS ASSIGNED
  • MUST MEET PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS OF THE POSITION WITH OR WITHOUT ACCOMMODATION.


Qualifications

BACHELORS DEGREE REQUIRED. DEMONSTRATED MANAGERIAL/SUPERVISORY SKILLS DURING THREE-FIVE YEARS OF DIRECT RELATED EXPERIENCE; PREFERABLY POSSESSING TWO YEARS WITH PACCAR. SIX SIGMA CERTIFICATION PREFERRED.
