Job SummaryThe Production Project Lead is accountable to the Production Manager and is responsible for leading project work, special initiatives, and the successful integration of commercial production activities with project execution. This role acts as the primary Production representative on cross-functional projects and ensures all activities are executed in compliance with Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs), Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), and applicable quality standards.
Responsibilities- Serve as the Production lead and facilitator for projects including technology transfers, CDMO initiatives, process improvements, manufacturing compliance programs, and inter-site harmonization activities.
- Partner closely with Project Management and cross-functional teams including Production, Maintenance, R&D, QA, QC, Tech Services, Supply Chain, and Business Development to achieve project milestones and deliverables.
- Create and maintain project schedules, action plans, resource plans, labour tracking, milestone reporting, and performance metrics.
- Coordinate production execution dates with Supply Chain, Project Management, and Production to ensure alignment with manufacturing schedules.
- Lead project meetings, establish objectives and priorities, document actions and risks, and communicate progress effectively.
- Support preparation of SOPs, batch records, routings, BOMs, training materials, and production documentation required for project execution.
- Coordinate training activities with Production SMEs, Operations Trainers, and Technical Services teams.
- Lead production trials, technology transfers, development batches, and commercialization activities on the manufacturing floor.
- Develop production flow concepts, workstation layouts, crewing models, and continuous improvement initiatives to optimize operational performance.
- Track and analyze key production metrics including cycle times, labour hours, downtime, OEE, scrap, deviations, and cost performance.
- Support costing activities and provide production input for commercial proposals and customer opportunities.
- Ensure compliance with GMP requirements, quality systems, and workplace safety standards.
Job RequirementsEducation- Bachelor of Engineering / Science degree is required.
- PMP certification is considered an asset.
Experience and Skills- Minimum 3 years of production or operations experience.
- Experience within pharmaceutical, food, cosmetic, or other regulated manufacturing environments is considered an asset.
- Demonstrated experience leading interdisciplinary project teams.
- Strong understanding of project management methodologies, tools, and commercialization processes.
- Advanced Microsoft Office skills including Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Project, and Visio.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities, drive results, and work independently in a fast-paced environment.

Starting at approximately
$90,000 CAD, with opportunity for increase based on qualifications and experience. Total rewards include comprehensive benefits, bonus eligibility, and professional development support.
