About the Team:

The Factory Test team is responsible for hardware testing in our Long Beach facilities. We use our breadth of experience and collaborative engineering approach to support everything from very large structural tests to precise valve actuation. To that end, we design, build, and operate all test assets in Long Beach from initial concept to test execution. If you enjoy working on a multi-disciplinary team with a broad mandate and want to put hands on hardware, then this is the team for you.

About the Role:
  • Your primary role will include leading integrated scheduling and resource planning, developing and maintaining production schedule and performing schedule baseline change control, collecting and tracking performance data and, conducting critical path and variance analyses.
  • You will also provide visibility, status, and regular reviews on schedule performance.
  • You will be expected to resource load, analyze, and optimize production planning schedules to meet required dates while collaborating with design, manufacturing and supply chain counterparts to status resources, critical procurements and impact to schedule, while performing "what if" scenarios, and helping to develop recovery plans.
  • Develop schedules and plans involving both internal resources, partner team resources, and external vendor resources.
  • Work with department leadership and production planners in other work centers to align on priorities for your product line(s) and collectively respond to changes when they arise.
  • Production demand planning duties, to provide actionable insights and drive improved schedule performance for our team. • Provide meaningful metrics and data to help demonstrate where data collection, measurement and analysis can be valuable in informing strategic decisions regarding resource allocation and planning.

About You:
  • Experience with large project controls, project planning and IMS in a discrete manufacturing operation.
  • Proficiency with resource loaded schedules using Smartsheet, MS Project, or comparable scheduling software.
  • Experience managing multiple swim lanes, work centers or product lines with changing priorities.
  • Strong communication skills in technical work environments, ability to earn trust and maintain positive and professional relationships.
  • Ability and willingness to thrive in a fast-paced, rapidly changing work environment.

Nice to haves but not required:
  • Previous experience in manufacturing, defense, or aerospace.
  • Experience with advanced functionality of scheduling software (e.g. Smartsheet automation, baseline/variance functionality, schedule slack calculations).
  • Experience with CPM, PERT, and /or schedule margin methodologies.
