The estimated base salary range for this role is "$70,000-$95,000" per year.
Individual pay is based upon location, skills and expertise, experience and other relevant factors

Reporting to the Plant Manager, the Production Planner manages and executes production planning activities to ensure on-time delivery and efficient operations by developing and maintaining production schedules, aligning capacity with demand, and coordinating across Sales, Supply Chain, and Operations. Monitors and adjusts plans in response to changing priorities, material constraints, and disruptions, while communicating status and risks to stakeholders. Utilizes ERP/MRP systems, capacity analysis, and performance metrics to drive decision-making, support continuous improvement, and maintain alignment with customer commitments and business objectives.

What you'll do
  • Develops and optimizes master production schedules using ERP/MRP systems and detailed capacity analysis.
  • Analyzes demand, labor, and equipment constraints to balance production loads and meet customer commitments.
  • Monitors and proactively adjusts schedules to address bottlenecks and changing priorities.
  • Leads recovery scheduling efforts to minimize disruption impacts and maintain delivery performance.
  • Serves as a primary point of contact for production status, delays, and forecast changes.
  • Coordinates complex production requirements, including custom, engineered, and one-off products.
  • Analyzes KPIs and Gemba board data to identify trends and drive root cause corrective actions.
  • Partners with cross-functional teams to align demand and capacity through S&OP processes.
  • Provides guidance and informal training for less experienced planners.
  • Manages vendor coordination activities, including expediting critical materials and resolving delivery or quality issues.
  • Partners with Procurement to monitor supplier performance and mitigate risks impacting production schedules.
  • Provides backup support to Procurement by assisting with purchase order placement, revisions, and supplier communications during coverage periods.

  • Develop working knowledge of the full product suite, including custom and engineered-to-order solutions.
  • Exhibit strong attention to detail and organizational capabilities in managing multiple priorities.
  • Communicate effectively with stakeholders, balancing customer responsiveness with operational feasibility.
  • Apply Lean manufacturing concepts and contribute to continuous improvement and Kaizen initiatives.
  • Leverage Excel (e.g., pivot tables, formulas) and reporting tools to analyze trends and support decision-making.
  • Demonstrate bilingual capability (e.g., Spanish) as a plus in supporting operations.


Qualifications
  • 5-8 years of progressive experience in production planning, scheduling, or supply chain within a manufacturing environment.
  • 5+ years enterprise ERP experience desired.

Plant Environment - This position operates in a manufacturing setting and can be subject to extreme cold and hot temperatures; uneven walking surfaces with cords, tools, and other obstacles; intermittent loud noises; and dusty or dirty conditions. Required PPE includes: Hard hat (when required), safety glasses, earplugs, steel toe/composite boots, and fall protection.
