Full Job Description
Responsible for the execution of all production planning, inventory control activities, and customer support of product lines. Assures customer ship dates are met with on-time deliveries. Must plan and schedule assigned products to ensure customer needs are met in the most efficient and timely manner. Responsible for scheduling and coordinating material through the entire manufacturing cycle using the latest techniques and technologies.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Performs diversified duties involving the coordination, issuance, movement, and control of materials for the manufacturing areas.
  • Structures and maintains bills of materials for new products in MRP.
  • Works from the open order list, repetitive schedules, and sample requests in conjunction with area leaders to meet schedule requirements on orders and special requirements.
  • Coordinates Final Assembly and Components Departments and adjusts the schedule to meet day-to-day requirements and established priorities.
  • Review schedule delays and conflicts with area leaders and make necessary adjustments.
  • Draws up master schedule to establish sequence and lead time of each operation to meet shipping dates according to sales forecasts or customer orders.
  • Establish and maintain good relations with customers and internal stakeholders, such as customer service, operations, engineering, sales, outside processors, accounting, and administration through telephone, email, data, and correspondence involved in processing customer inquiries and orders.
  • Evaluate and analyze MRP output reports (sales orders to be scheduled, stock status, etc.) to accomplish the effective issuance of materials to the manufacturing floor. Initiates appropriate action based on evaluation and analysis.
  • In conjunction with Line Leaders/Manufacturing Manager, plan capacity of assigned areas as needed.
  • Analyzes plant capacity data and performs mathematical calculations to optimize load for each production line/cell.
  • Analyzes transaction errors and coordinates cycle counts as necessary to perform corrections to maintain inventory accuracy. Pursues root cause resolutions and troubleshoots root cause of any negative inventory balances.
  • Coordinates and adjusts production workloads to meet customer /build requirements and balances the workloads in departments.
  • Maintains valid due dates on all production orders.
  • Evaluate schedule conflicts relative to accomplishing 100% on-time performance.
  • Coordinates on-time delivery and replenishment of materials to assigned work cells.
  • Proactively communicates parts shortages to appropriate personnel. When necessary, expedite purchased parts through Purchasing.
  • Prepares special reports on the status of production. Communicates with others regarding the availability of material being processed in other areas essential to maintaining schedules.
  • Identifies and implements best business material planning strategies to support corporate and divisional objectives, providing AMETEK a competitive advantage in all areas of the supply chain.
  • Defines, drives, and implements process improvements and systems improvements for materials activities.
  • Provides timely and accurate results to streamline and improve processes.
  • Supports new product development from the concept stage through successful product launch.
  • Manages inventory to ensure line objectives are met and are in line with company objectives.
  • Manages surplus and obsolete inventory and actively disposes of inventory, if required.
  • Where necessary receives and issues stockroom materials to and from production. Aids in physical inventories and performs duties to assist in the achievement of 95% accuracy levels for particular stores locations.
  • Other duties may be assigned.

SPECIAL KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
  • Prefer Bachelor's Degree in Business or Materials Management; 3-5 years relevant experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Must be able to effectively communicate technical concepts, problems, and ideas to various levels within the organization.
  • Knowledge of manufacturing processes required: material/production control and basic lean manufacturing concepts, etc.
  • Proficiency in utilizing MRP is a must.
  • Experience with ORACLE preferred.
  • A solid understanding of planning principles and an ability to effectively negotiate is required.
  • Must be proficient in Microsoft Office, with intermediate to advanced Excel skills required.
  • APICS Certification desired.
