The Mission Enabling Products (MEP) organization is seeking a Production Planner3to join our team. This is an on-site position located in San Diego, CA .
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
Plan and schedule sequence of fabrication, assembly, installation, and other manufacturing operations relating to specific portion of the product for guidance of production workers.
Planner must understand manufacturing capacity and allocate as required to meet build plan commitments. Expedite and reschedule open purchase orders to suit production-planning requirements.
Create and release manufacturing orders based on bill-of-materials and schedule demand. Relieve manufacturing orders after sub-assemblies, ensure assemblies and integration are complete.
Track material shortages for manufacturing orders, kits, and sub-assemblies based on bill-of-material or drawings/configuration. Communicate to program team and management critical part shortages jeopardizing ship schedule.
Maintain inventory including shelf-life sensitive materials and tooling for the program.
Coordinate and expedite flow of materials, parts, and assemblies between departments, according to manufacturing schedules and priorities, compile and maintain manual or computerized record.
Prepares purchase requests for the purchase of components or parts based on a master production schedule, shop load, and inventory requirements.
Perform workorder variance analysis and review MRP execution, ensure accuracy ofinformation, reconcile supply and demand, validates master schedulingrequirement.
Update Work Orders based on Engineering Change Orders (ECOs).
Perform material cycle counts and program close-out actions.
Basic Qualifications:
High School Diploma or equivalent and 4 years of production planning or related experience.
Must have or be able to obtain a DOD Secret level security clearance.
Strong analytical skills with the ability to work under pressure and tight timelines.
Strong computer literacy using an ERP system and Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook).
Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Must be able to walk or stand for extended periods of time, as needed.
Microsoft Office Suite 6 Excel, Word, Visio and PowerPoint skills a must.
Perform physical requirements of the position: using pallet jack or other equipment to move parts weighing up to 45/50 pounds, lift 25 pounds, as required.
Must be willing to work overtime, as needed.
Preferred Qualifications:
Demonstrates understanding and ability to apply Lean Manufacturing Principles.
Production Control Planning and Scheduling experience within an aerospace manufacturing environment or ceramic matrix composites preferred.
Current security clearance is a plus.
Primary Level Salary Range: $66,600.00 - $111,000.00
The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate9s experience, education, skills and current market conditions.
Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
