Full Job Description
Rubbercraft(RCC) is seeking a Production Planner III who coordinates daily with Production managers and Production Leads to validate, prioritize, and or modify production schedules, and to resolve issues affecting schedule adherence, and customer service level performance. This position is responsible for analyzing capacity constraints in each value stream and creating monthly master schedules for each value stream. This position will work with multiple cross-functional teams, (Planning, Manufacturing, Supply Chain, IT, Engineering and Quality) to achieve both tactical and strategic goals assigned by fully understanding production demand and supply needs. The role is responsible for researching, setting, and managing the accuracy of appropriate MRP planning parameters, and all planning data in Great Plains to optimize and simplify the planning process while maximizing resources. This position is also the primary point of contact for all Sales department inquiries and issues and is responsible for working with manufacturing to ensure accurate and timely order status information is provided.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Perform capacity analysis to support what-if scenarios, forecast changes, and plan for production growth
  • Create and support the execution of the master production schedule
  • Release manufacturing orders and change orders within a timely manner and as required to support schedules.
  • Review and respond to MRP planning exception messages as required
  • Support the accuracy management of MRP planning parameters and data
  • Identify potential supply risks and inventory exposures by aligning supply chain processes with production plan milestones/targets
  • Lead the coordination with manufacturing and Sales department to analyze schedule impact for all expedite requests.
  • Manage and update the required customer lines of balances and other open order status tools, including updating recovery dates and status comments in GP.
  • Coordinate with the purchasing department to ensure that the appropriate materials or services are procured to support schedule requirements
  • Ability to respond to detailed inquiries, and present information to groups and senior management
  • Complete in an accurate and timely manner, all special projects and tasks as assigned by the Planning Manager
  • Communication to the Planning Manager and appropriate Inside Sales Representative or Customer Service Representative, any critical issues that will impact the on-time delivery of a customer demand
  • Coordinates contingency plans to achieve delivery promises when important deviations occur, properly adjusts due dates in the system and informs Customer Service of the changes
  • Proactively supports all company and department goals and objectives

  • Monitor and support proper documentation of build plans and all applicable sign-offs
  • Reports process and manufacturing improvements when and if inefficiencies exist, to the Planning Manager or Supply Chain Director.

  • Comply with company good housekeeping and safety practices
  • Monitor and report key KPI's for master schedule performance and schedule adherence.


JOB SPECIFICATIONS:

Education: Minimum 5-7 years of experience in a progressive manufacturing environment, 4-year degree preferred in Business Management, previous Aerospace manufacturing experience highly desirable.

Experience:
  • Manufacturing Order planning management experience including master scheduling, rough cut capacity planning, and data analysis.
  • ERP/ MRP system experience.
  • Experience in a fast paced, high mix manufacturing environment

COMPETENCIES:
  • CPIM Certification or other equivalent supply chain certification.
  • Presents ideas effectively in formal and informal situations. Conveys thoughts clearly and concisely verbally and written communication.
  • Excellent knowledge of Excel and Microsoft suite. Knowledge of pivots, V-lookups, charts, and other excel filtering tools.
  • Highly analytical: critical thinker; strong analytical aptitude and attention to detail; due to the speed and rate of change occurring in this manufacturing environment, must be able to problem-solve and think independently.
  • Excellent understanding of S&OP, inventory management, master scheduling, capacity planning, & materials replenishment methodologies.
  • Experience reviewing and issuing manufacturing orders, BOM's and routers.
  • Bilingual preferred (Spanish/English)

OTHER SUBJECTIVE CRITERIA:
  • MS Great Plains MRP experience preferred.
  • Ability to effectively work with several individuals in varying positions throughout different levels of management within the organization.
  • Ability to be persistent and to follow-through until the order is completed and shipped, or a task has been completed.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs
