Job Title: Production Master Schedule Analyst

Location: South Chesterfield, VA

We are seeking a highly analytical and collaborative Production Master Schedule Analyst who thrives in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. The ideal candidate has experience developing and managing master production schedules while balancing customer demand, production capacity, and material availability. This individual is a proactive problem solver who uses data to drive decisions, improve operational performance, and support on-time delivery. Strong communication skills are essential, as this role partners closely with production, procurement, engineering, customer service, and supply chain teams to ensure alignment across the organization. What you will be responsible for in this role:

  • Develop, maintain, and execute the Master Production Schedule (MPS) based on customer demand, forecasts, and production capacity.
  • Balance customer delivery requirements with manufacturing constraints and available resources.
  • Review demand fluctuations and adjust production schedules to minimize disruptions.
  • Ensure schedule stability while maintaining flexibility to respond to changing business priorities.
  • Collaborate with production leadership to resolve bottlenecks and optimize throughput.
  • Support finite capacity scheduling and long-range planning activities.
  • Recommend production leveling strategies to improve workflow and reduce schedule volatility.
  • Partner with Sales, Customer Service, Procurement, Engineering, Manufacturing, and Logistics to align production priorities.
  • Participate in Sales & Operations Planning (S&OP) and demand review meetings.
  • Coordinate new product introductions, engineering changes, and phase-in/phase-out planning.
  • Communicate schedule changes and production priorities to internal stakeholders.
  • Work closely with Materials Planning and Procurement to ensure timely material availability.
  • Develop and maintain production planning reports and dashboards.
  • Lead initiatives to improve planning accuracy and scheduling processes.
  • Develop standardized scheduling procedures and work instructions
  • Additional projects as required.


What are the basic qualifications?

  • 1-3 years of production planning or experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • Strong understanding of:
    • Master Production Scheduling (MPS)
    • Material Requirements Planning (MRP/ERP)
    • Capacity Planning
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel skills.


What are the preferred qualifications?

  • Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Operations Management, Industrial Engineering, Business, or related field.
  • APICS/ASCM Certified in Planning and Inventory Management (CPIM) certification.
  • Experience supporting Sales & Operations Planning (S&OP).
  • Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing principles.
  • Experience in Engineer-to-Order (ETO), Configure-to-Order (CTO), or Make-to-Order manufacturing environments.
  • AS400 Experience preferred.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills.
  • Ability to work in both office and manufacturing environments.
  • Occasional walking throughout the production facility.
  • Ability to lift up to 20 pounds occasionally.
  • Ability to sit, stand, and use a computer for extended periods.
  • Experience using Power BI or other business intelligence tools.


To be a great fit for the role:

  • SQL, Microsoft Excel, Power BI, Data mining, ERP, Data Visualization experience.
  • Previous experience implementing analytical solutions
  • Strong quantitative skills through knowledge of statistics and quantitative data analysis and interpretation
  • Previous experience in a manufacturing environment (operations)
  • Previous experience in project management.
  • Problem Solving/Root Cause Analysis training or experience (Pareto Chart, 5 Whys, etc.)
  • Effective communicator both written and verbally
  • Work well in team environment, both as an individual contributor and as a leader
  • Able to function independently once instruction is provided

Work Arrangement : Onsite

Salary Range : $74,000.00 - $90,000.00
