The Production Manager is responsible for overseeing all production operations to ensure efficient, safe, and high-quality output. This role leads a team of supervisors and production staff, drives continuous improvement initiatives, and ensures alignment with business goals, safety standards, and regulatory compliance.
Leadership & Team Management- Lead, mentor, and manage production supervisors and leads for Fabrication, Welding, General Labor and Shipping
- Ensure optimal staffing levels and training across all shifts
- Foster a high-performance, safety-first culture
- Works with Plant Manager to determine staffing requirements and plans for the appropriate selection, training, and evaluation of all personnel within the production operation.
Production Oversight- Collaborate with the Operations Planner to execute production schedule, identify capacity constraints, and implement corrective actions to maintain on time delivery goals.
- Monitor labor efficiency, and overtime utilization while identifying opportunities for continuous improvement
- Lead daily production huddle to communicate priorities, address production issues and drive execution of daily schedule commitments
Quality & Compliance- Enforce quality assurance standards and work with QA team to resolve issues
- Knowledge of lean manufacturing principles.
- Maintain compliance with EHS standards
- Support audits and implement corrective actions as needed
Process Improvement- Drive continuous improvement on the shop floor and lead projects
- Collaborate with other departments to enhance performance
Qualifications: - Bachelor's degree in Operations Management, Engineering, Supply Chain, Manufacturing Technology, or related field preferred; equivalent education and experience will be considered.
- 7+ years of manufacturing leadership experience in a metal fabrication, welding, or discrete manufacturing environment.
- Proven experience leading supervisors, production teams, and cross-functional initiatives.
- Strong understanding of production scheduling, labor management, quality systems, and continuous improvement principles.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications and ERP systems; SYSPRO experience preferred.
- Demonstrated leadership, communication, problem-solving, and team-development skills.
- Have a desire to interact with people.
