Salary Range: $115,000 - $130,000 CAD + Bonus
SummaryAs Production Manager, you will lead the overall manufacturing operations of the Shawflex production facility while driving operational excellence across safety, quality, productivity, inventory management, and cost performance. Working closely with Process Engineering and the Operations Leadership Team, you will champion continuous improvement initiatives, develop high-performing teams, and ensure manufacturing processes consistently meet customer, business, and regulatory requirements. Your leadership will directly contribute to the facility's ability to deliver safe, efficient, and high-quality production results.
ResponsibilitiesLead Manufacturing Operations- Direct and coordinate all production activities across the Vaughan facility.
- Build a high-performance culture through visible leadership and regular engagement with frontline employees and supervisors.
- Develop and execute plans that improve machine efficiency, labour utilization, productivity, and operational performance.
- Partner with Supply Chain Planning and Scheduling to develop production schedules that support business requirements.
- Ensure accurate production reporting and operational data management.
- Support and implement KanBan systems and other lean manufacturing practices.
Drive Continuous Improvement- Lead initiatives focused on reducing scrap, downtime, maintenance costs, energy consumption, and operational variances.
- Partner with Process Engineering and Maintenance to improve manufacturing processes, equipment performance, and commissioning activities.
- Drive line speed improvements, cycle time reductions, and overall plant efficiency.
- Lead continuous improvement projects that enhance operational effectiveness and business performance.
- Support compliance with quality management systems and manufacturing standards.
Develop and Lead People- Coach, mentor, and develop Production Supervisors and manufacturing teams.
- Foster an environment where employee ideas, concerns, and feedback are actively addressed.
- Conduct regular employee and team meetings to maintain engagement and alignment.
- Support succession planning and talent development initiatives.
- Address performance and behavioural issues fairly, consistently, and in alignment with company policies and values.
- Maintain strong working relationships across departments and functional teams.
Champion Health, Safety & Environmental Excellence- Support and promote Mattr's Health, Safety and Environment Management System.
- Ensure safe work practices and strong housekeeping standards throughout the facility.
- Conduct and support equipment and process risk assessments.
- Lead initiatives that strengthen workplace safety performance and environmental compliance.
- Reinforce a culture committed to injury and incident prevention.
Ensure Quality and Regulatory Compliance- Support compliance with CSA N299, NQA-1, ISO, and other applicable quality standards.
- Reduce quality incidents, non-conformance reports, and customer complaints.
- Provide training and guidance related to quality system requirements.
- Participate in audits and continuous improvement activities to maintain and improve quality performance.
QualificationsRequired- Community College diploma in Operations Management, a Technical discipline, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- 6 years of supervisory experience within a manufacturing environment.
- Proven experience leading production teams and manufacturing operations.
- APICS Certification in Production and Inventory Management and/or Lean Six Sigma training.
- Experience using ERP systems, Microsoft Office applications, and maintenance management systems.
- Strong leadership, communication, organizational, and decision-making skills.
- Ability to develop teams, manage priorities, and drive operational improvements.
Preferred- Bachelor's Degree in Operations Management, Engineering, or a related discipline.
- Experience leading large manufacturing teams of 100+ employees.
- APICS certification and/or Lean Six Sigma Black Belt.
- Knowledge of World Class Manufacturing methodologies, including Kaizen, Lean, Six Sigma, JIT, TQM, KanBan, and TPS.
- Working knowledge of ISO9001, TS16949, CSA Z299.3, EN 9100, and EN 14001 quality systems.
- Experience within wire and cable, automotive, heavy industrial, or related manufacturing environments.

Salary Range for this position is
$115,000 to $130,000. The provided range represents the anticipated base salary and target incentive for this position.
