Position Summary

The Production Manager leads milling and packaging operations at the Marble Hill site to deliver safe, reliable, and efficient production that meets customer requirements and supports HEM operating and financial objectives. This role oversees 24/7 milling operations, partners cross-functionally with Maintenance, Engineering, Quality, Customer Care, and Product Management, and drives operational optimization through data, preventive/predictive maintenance, and process improvements-while ensuring compliance with MSHA and environmental requirements.

Principal Duties & Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage milling and packaging operations to ensure safe, efficient production of bulk and packaged products.
  • Ensure compliance with safety and environmental requirements, including MSHA inspections, workplace exams, daily compliance inspections, and discharge monitoring.
  • Coordinate with Maintenance and Engineering to align production demands with downtime windows for preventive maintenance and project work.
  • Partner with Customer Care and Product Management to provide accurate production forecasts, timely responses to customer needs, and consistent supply.
  • Optimize milling performance by analyzing downtime drivers, de-bottlenecking equipment, and recommending process and capability improvements.
  • Ensure sampling is executed to process control plans and quality standards; support trial-to-full scale transitions with Technology/Engineering as needed.
  • Maintain visual management and improve reporting methods to enable better data capture and decision-making.
  • Champion housekeeping and plant organization through daily inspections, cleaning schedules, and coordination with Maintenance.
  • Support operating plans and budgets by developing and executing short- and long-range objectives.
  • Provide leadership coverage as backup for key site leaders as needed (e.g., Quality, Maintenance, Mine, Plant Manager).


Specialized/Technical Knowledge or Required Skills

  • Bachelor's degree in an engineering/processing field or equivalent experience.
  • 5+ years in a production environment with supervisory experience.
  • Working knowledge of limestone processing equipment and systems (mills, classifiers, screening, baggers, conveying/pneumatics, PLCs).
  • Strong planning, prioritization, and problem-solving skills; ability to lead teams and drive safe execution.
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills.
  • MSHA training required per Part 48 plan (prior training accepted with documentation).
