About the Role:

Innovative is seeking an experienced Production Manager to lead our Production Department and ensure every project we build reflects the quality, professionalism, and client experience Innovative is known for. This is a high-level leadership role for a construction professional who can manage a team, a P&L, and a portfolio of active projects with equal skill.

As Production Manager, you'll oversee the Production Department from a strategic, elevated view; building the systems, processes, and team culture needed to deliver an above-average client experience profitably. You'll maintain a safe, positive, and productive environment for your team, trade partners, and clients alike, while staying closely connected to the day-to-day realities on each jobsite.

What You'll Do:

Team Leadership
  • Lead, manage, and hold the production team accountable to high standards of performance and quality
  • Manage team goals ("rocks") and ongoing training
  • Conduct quarterly and annual performance reviews for the entire production team
  • Maintain a safe and enjoyable working environment for the production team, trades, and clients

Department & Financial Management
  • Own the financial success and profitability of the Production Department
  • Manage the forecasting schedule for the project pipeline and regularly update forecasted revenue
  • Develop and report key departmental KPIs
  • Update the production metric monthly to track project performance
  • Build and update systems and processes on a regular basis
  • Monitor for and proactively address areas of slippage across the department

Project & Field Oversight
  • Visit each jobsite weekly for quality control and hands-on training
  • Support project managers in resolving major construction issues
  • Conduct bi-weekly deep dives into current projects with project managers
  • Ensure compliance with all company policies, and applicable state and federal regulations, codes, and laws

Meetings & Communication
  • Host and attend a wide range of departmental and cross-departmental meetings each week
  • Manage all meeting agendas to ensure meetings are focused and productive
  • Maintain close, consistent communication between production and all other departments
  • Manage trade partner relationships through open, proactive communication


What You Bring:

  • 10+ years of construction experience, with a strong record of leading and training teams
  • In-depth knowledge of construction principles and installation techniques
  • Strong financial acumen and business literacy
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • A positive, solutions-oriented attitude and strong problem-solving ability
  • Comfort operating with little to no supervision, and a collaborative approach to working across departments and with diverse teams
  • Excellent time management skills and the willingness to put in the work when it counts
  • Fluency in Buildertrend, Google Drive, When I Work, and BambooHR
  • 2-4 year degree preferred; ongoing professional education a plus
