Full Job Description
SUMMARY OF JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

This Production Manager is responsible leading manufacturing activities, including metal forming, press operations to ensure products are made safely, efficiently, and to quality standards. This role manages production plan execution, personnel management, and equipment maintenance to meet customer on-time delivery (OTD) goals while maximizing profitability. Will require flexibility to be available on off-shifts as required.

REPORTING TO: Sr. Production Manager

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Production Operations: Develop and execute daily/weekly production schedules to meet customer demand, utilizing MRP systems.
  • Process Optimization: Drive Lean Manufacturing initiatives (5S, Kaizen, Six Sigma) to improve efficiency, reduce setup times (SMED), and increase throughput by driving the following metrics:
    • On-Time Delivery (OTD): Percentage of orders shipped on or before the customer commitment date.
    • Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE): Uses OEE data to prioritize improvement initiatives and capital requests.
    • Scrap and Rework Rate: Percentage of raw material wasted or products requiring rework due to forming errors.
    • Labor Efficiency/Productivity: Total units produced divided by total labor hours worked.
  • Quality Control: Ensure products meet engineering specifications, reducing scrap and rework rates.
  • Team Leadership: Supervise, train, and mentor production personnel, fostering a strong culture focused on safety, accountability, and continuous improvement.
  • Equipment Maintenance: Partner with maintenance teams to ensure uptime of key equipment and implement preventive maintenance programs.
  • Safety & Compliance: Enforce all Safety standards and policies, conducting regular audits and incident investigations.
  • Cost Management: Monitor production budgets and reduce plant operating costs.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:

The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skills, and abilities required to perform this job successfully.
  • Technical Skills: Strong understanding of metal forming processes (stamping, drawing, flanging, bending) and interpretation of blueprints/BOMs.
  • Software: Proficiency in MRP systems.
  • Leadership: Proven ability to lead teams in a fast-paced environment and drive change.


EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Manufacturing, Operations, or related field preferred.
  • Experience: 5-7+ years of manufacturing experience, with at least 3 years in a leadership role, preferably in metal forming, stamping, or fabrication.


Total Rewards
The compensation range for this position is $109,800.00 - $164,600.00, depending on experience. This position may be eligible for performance based bonus plan.
