Production Manager to oversee day-to-day manufacturing operations across multiple fabrication departments. This individual will lead front-line supervisors and production leaders while driving operational excellence, improving efficiency, and ensuring consistent quality and on-time delivery.
The ideal candidate is a strategic manufacturing leader who enjoys developing people, improving systems, and solving complex production challenges. This role requires someone who can balance daily execution with long-term operational planning and thrives in a fast-paced fabrication environment.
Key Responsibilities: - Lead daily production operations across multiple manufacturing departments, including laser cutting, CNC machining, press brake forming, finishing, and assembly.
- Supervise and develop production team leaders while fostering accountability and collaboration.
- Coordinate production schedules to maximize throughput, quality, and on-time customer delivery.
- Analyze manufacturing processes and implement improvements to increase productivity and reduce waste.
- Monitor production metrics, identify bottlenecks, and drive corrective actions.
- Partner with engineering, quality, planning, and operations teams to support customer requirements and production goals.
- Utilize ERP software to monitor production, inventory, and workflow.
- Develop standardized processes that improve communication across shifts and departments.
- Hire, mentor, and coach production personnel while supporting workforce development.
- Promote a strong safety culture by ensuring compliance with OSHA standards and company safety procedures.
- Manage tooling, equipment utilization, and manufacturing resources to support production demands.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives using Lean Manufacturing principles and data-driven decision making.
Qualifications: - 7+ years of manufacturing experience within a metal fabrication, machining, or precision manufacturing environment.
- Minimum of 3 years leading supervisors, team leads, or production personnel.
- Strong understanding of fabrication processes including press brakes, laser cutting, CNC machining, welding, or similar manufacturing operations.
- Demonstrated ability to lead multiple production teams in a fast-paced environment.
- Experience using ERP or MRP systems (Fulcrum or similar platforms preferred).
- Strong systems-thinking mindset with the ability to improve operational processes beyond day-to-day production.
- Comfortable making decisions using production data and performance metrics.
- Experience implementing Lean Manufacturing and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Strong communication and leadership skills with the ability to motivate and develop teams.
- Blueprint reading and GD&T knowledge is a plus.
- Interest in leveraging AI or technology to improve manufacturing operations is a plus.
- No degree required; relevant manufacturing leadership experience is valued.
