DESCRIPTION:

As Production Manager, you will direct and coordinate manufacturing and engineering activities towards the accomplishment of company goals and objectives as a member of the Manufacturing Leadership Team. This position requires experience with managing the development of manufacturing process strategy, process improvement, direct & indirect production workforce oversight and potentially meeting with customers to assist with technical capabilities and solutions. The position is responsible for providing key leadership, direction, organization, monitoring and management of the roles, activities, and proceedings of all assigned manufacturing personnel to ensure the successful, cost effective, timely and safe processing of customer orders.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES:
  • Review and establish material, equipment, and manpower resource requirements. Serve as the direct line manager for Production Supervisors and all assigned personnel.
  • Plan, schedule, and direct the activities of department to attain production goals, ensuring production is initiated with sufficient lead time to meet required deliveries.
  • Coordinate production activities with other departments to include planning, logistics, materials, manufacturing, engineering, and quality.
  • Prepare and communicate daily status reports to all levels of the organization as required.
  • Ensure adherence to appropriate quality control standards and serve as a primary member of the Material Review Board providing manufacturing inputs for disposition of non-conforming product.
  • Develop, review, and execute equipment requirement plans to support new product manufacturing.
  • Collaborate within Operations, Engineering and Quality to optimize manufacturing efficiency, first pass yield, and minimize rework and scrap.
  • Manage employee performance, attendance, overtime, and annual review process.
  • Actively seek out and implement methods to reduce manufacturing lead time by combining value-added steps and/or eliminating non-value-added steps with appropriate authorization from the Engineering & Quality departments.
  • Collaborate with New Product Introduction teams to identify and escalate manufacturing challenges by enforcing DFM principles.
  • Develop NPI production strategy transition, lead in the implementation and optimization of processes including identification, specification, design and qualification of fixtures, test equipment, methods, and procedures.
  • Comply with applicable environmental, health and safety laws and regulations, Company policy and accepted safe work practices.
  • Implement the Company's environmental, health and safety programs in all departments/units within their respective operations.
  • Basic knowledge of Quality Management Systems (ISO 9001) and Environmental Management Systems (ISO 14001), as applicable.
  • Understand the importance of designing, building, and operating safe systems. Basic knowledge and understanding of basic safety work processes such as JSA's and MOC's.
  • Demonstrate commitment in the successful EH&S management of chemical processes and facilities.
  • Responsible for the outgoing quality, safety and efficacy of all finished products and compliance with current good manufacturing practices (cGMPs), environmental health and safety (EHS) guidelines and any other regulations that may apply.
  • Implements and maintains programs to improve the safety, productivity, and profitability of the Area; Ensures compliance with Department of Transportation (DOT)/Occupational Safety and Health Act (OSHA) and other Federal and State regulations.
  • Executes necessary precautions to ensure safety and compliance with Company, OSHA, and other standards and regulations.
  • Ensures thorough root cause investigations for all injuries and incidents, following-up with consistent discipline and retraining.


EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:
  • College degree in a business, operations or industrial discipline or equivalent related experience preferred.
  • 4+ years hands-on manufacturing experience in a high volume, high product mix environment.
  • Leadership/Management experience managing production/manufacturing personnel; experience in a cross functional environment preferred.
  • Semiconductor industry or other manufacturing experience preferred.
  • Proficient at anticipating and resolving internal and external resource challenges encountered during manufacturing & product delivery process.
  • Capable of providing analysis and implementation of solutions to manufacturing process shortfalls.
  • Demonstrated ability to effectively interact with, communicate with and provide leadership to a diverse workforce.
  • Experience or developed skills in using Lean Six Sigma practices, MRP systems, and proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook).
  • Excellent written/verbal communication as well as presentation skills at all levels.
  • High energy, motivated individual who thrives in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
  • Must be a team player, with the ability to positively motivate and mentor team members.
  • Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
  • Ability to successfully self-manage timelines and deliverables for multiple concurrent projects.

  • Sitting, standing, walking, pushing, pulling; reach with hands and arms; and talk and/or hear instructions.
  • Occasional stooping, kneeling, or crouching; use hands to finger, handle, or feel parts; lift and/or move up to 40 pounds.
  • Close vision, color vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
  • Ability to differentiate shades and color to identify defects.
