How You'll Make an ImpactAs a
Production Engineer you'll be at the forefront of our innovation, driving specialty chemical solutions forward. You'll collaborate with a diverse group of passionate individuals to deliver sustainable solutions to advance mobility, improve wellbeing, and enhance modern life.
You will act as a technical resource for batch chemical manufacturing operation running a 24/7 schedule. Provide engineering support to help operational work teams run safe, efficient, environmentally compliant, and reliable operations.
In this role, you will:
- Provide subject matter expertise to the ADVA & Oilkemia units with respect to technology, equipment, and process control - may involve interaction outside of normal business hours
- Ownership of batch sheets, process instructions, as well as batch programming and process controls.
- Support the Process Safety Management program, including the MOC process, PHA participation and action item closure, maintenance of standard operating procedures, and development of Process Safety Information.
- Work with other technical roles and plant personnel to meet business and plant goals in safety, productivity, quality, and cost.
- Assist in troubleshooting and facilitate training of operating personnel in troubleshooting skills
- Work with Reliability, Maintenance, & Improve Process teams to resolve issues, identify improvement opportunities, and leverage best practices with respect to technology and operating discipline.
- Leads and contributes, as required, in root cause investigations for safety, quality, & reliability events
- Manage off-spec materials and disposition plans
- Leads and supports targeted process and productivity improvement teams
- Understands and applies Statistical Process Control (SPC) technology
- Understands and closes unit asset utilization & operational performance gaps
Required Qualifications that Enable Your Success- Bachelor's degree from an accredited university in engineering; chemical or mechanical engineering perferred.
- Minimum 4 years of operational experience within a chemical plant
- Strong problem solving skills
- Strong communication skills, with the ability to communicate clearly across multiple levels of an organization.
- Familiarity with data analysis technique and software
- Knowledge of experience with lean and continuous improvement concepts/tools
Preferred Qualifications that Drive you Forward - Certified lean six sigma green belt
- Knowledge of SAP.
- Programming experience with Delta V
- Experience with polymerization chemistry
