POSITION SUMMARY

The Production Coordinator is a critical member of the operations team, responsible for ensuring safe, efficient, and high-quality manufacturing within a multi-shift cell. This role oversees production flow, optimizes productivity and cost, promotes a proactive safety culture, and directly supervises non-exempt production operators.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Safety Leadership: Foster a proactive, safety-first culture through employee engagement and accountability. Enforce safety rules and champion continuous improvement by identifying and mitigating risks before they occur. Lead initiatives that embed safety into daily operations and team behaviors.
Production Management: Coordinate all activities from post-order entry through preparation for shipment. Create work orders, establish production schedules, allocate resources, and ensure material availability to meet customer expectations. Provide clear and consistent communication of production updates and adjustments across finance, operations, sales/customer service, and related departments. Partner with internal stakeholders to support production trials for new product development, raw material changes, etc.
Team Supervision: Manage daily operations within the assigned department, ensuring performance against key metrics. Oversee team member selection, onboarding, training, performance, and compliance within company policies. Maintain a visible and approachable presence on the production floor to foster trust and encourage open communication across the department.
Quality Assurance and Process Improvement: Ensure adherence to established quality processes; escalate concerns promptly and implement corrective actions. Implement and refine standard operating procedures to drive consistency and quality. Utilize ITW Toolbox principles and lead continuous improvement projects with strong employee engagement.
Customer Support: Collaborates with other departments to ensure that customer orders and requests are fulfilled in a timely manner. Assists with scheduling prioritization and adjustments as changes need to occur to maintain equipment utilization and efficiency.
Other Duties: Perform additional tasks as required to support business needs

  • Experience with production scheduling, resource allocation and workflow optimization.
  • Demonstrated understanding of lean manufacturing practices, quality control processes, and workplace safety.
  • Proven ability to build trust and credibility with teams and stakeholders while fostering a collaborative, results-oriented work environment.
  • Strong communication, problem-solving and decision-making skills.
  • Experience with 5S strategies preferred
  • Proficiency in ERP systems and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Flexible to adjust work schedule based on operational needs.

Compensation Information:

Salary range is $85,000 - $92,000 based on experience and skills.
