Summary

You will serve as a Production Controller (Shipbuilding) in the Project Office of SUPSHIP GULF COAST.

Duties

Help

  • You will be responsible to the Program Managers Representative (PMR) for providing waterfront production and quality oversight of the craft and modules assigned.
  • You will conduct periodic review of shipbuilder's progressing system for accuracy.
  • You will monitor the contractor's production progress against an approved progressing system to ensure events occur as planned, that progress payments are justified and to identify any problem areas that may cause schedule delays or cost overruns.
  • You will monitor the contractor's performance pertaining to schedule in all areas of construction, testing, sea trials and delivery.
  • You will review, monitor, and maintain an up-to-date status of design, construction and testing relative to the contractor's Integrated Master Schedules.
  • You will develop preliminary cost estimates for obligation purposes, investigate actual status of craft construction and fabrication, evaluate work required, and evaluate the potential for contractor delay and disruption for proposed changes.
  • You will prepare Waterfront Changes (WFCs) to correct Government responsible trial cards, safety issues, and to accomplish work as directed by the PMR.
  • You will be responsible for keeping accurate records of all negotiations and work authorizations, and ensuring appropriate expenditure of funds.

  • This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.
  • This is a Mission Essential position. You will be required to ensure organization or facility continuity of operations and/or completion of tasks that are considered essential to the mission designated by a local or command decision.


Qualifications

Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-11 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector applying knowledge of shipbuilding techniques, procedures, and contract requirements to analyze, interpret, and understand design drawings and material requirements for the development of production plans and forecasts in support of shipbuilding projects and operations.
