Job Title: Production Control Specialist
Location: Cape Canaveral, FL, United States
Pay Range: $69-$71 per hour
Job Type: W2 Contract
Expected Hours per Week: 40 hours per week
Schedule: 7 AM - 5 PM
Position Summary: This role is a dedicated surge and clean-up function supporting the Production Control team. The focus is on reducing work order backlog, improving MRP/ERP data integrity, resolving stalled orders, expediting critical jobs, and providing production support coverage. This position is ideal for someone who enjoys solving complex operational challenges, driving measurable backlog reduction, and working in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
Key Responsibilities: - Drive down work-order backlog by dispositioning aged orders, resolving stalled kitted parts, and closing completed work orders.
- Execute expedite activities for critical production jobs by identifying material shortages, kit requirements, and operational blockers.
- Support off-shift production operations (B/C/D shifts) and provide routine escalation support when needed.
- Maintain ERP/MRP data integrity and ensure accuracy of production control records.
- Communicate daily backlog burn-down progress, expedite status, and shift hand-offs to Production Control leadership.
- Identify recurring constraints and escalate issues to leadership for long-term resolution.
- Partner with Production Control Specialists and assume work-center ownership when required.
- Support additional work centers while maintaining minimal technical debt once backlog objectives are achieved.
Required Qualifications: - Experience with production scheduling, expediting, backlog management, or data clean-up in a manufacturing environment.
- Hands-on ERP/MRP experience (SAP, Costpoint, or similar systems).
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong problem-solving and organizational skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and shifting production demands.
- Willingness to support non-standard shifts as business needs require.
Preferred Qualifications: - Experience with backlog remediation, work-order cleanup, and expedite-focused production support.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, including MS Project.
- Experience using Jira, ITS, or similar project tracking tools.
- Familiarity with AI tools.
- Experience in development and production manufacturing environments.
- Aerospace or automotive manufacturing experience.
