About the RoleThe Production Control Manager leads sourcing and purchasing activities to ensure cost-effective, timely, and reliable supply. The role manages procurement staff, oversees supplier performance, and executes sourcing strategies. The position supports operational continuity, cost control, and alignment with business objectives.
What You'll DoSourcing & Procurement Execution
- Maintain ownership of procurement activities ensuring cost-effective and reliable supply of materials.
- Develop and execute sourcing strategies aligned with operational and business requirements.
- Manage purchasing activities including supplier selection, negotiation, and contract execution.
- Ensure timely procurement of materials to support production and operational needs.
- Monitor supplier performance and address issues impacting cost, quality, or delivery.
Team Leadership & Performance Management
- Lead, coach, and develop procurement team members to ensure performance and capability.
- Assign priorities and manage workloads to meet procurement and operational objectives.
- Establish performance expectations and provide ongoing feedback and development.
- Promote collaboration across procurement, operations, finance, and engineering teams.
Drive accountability and consistency across procurement processes and activities.
Supplier Management & Continuous Improvement
- Evaluate supplier performance using cost, quality, and delivery metrics.
- Lead supplier negotiations to optimize pricing, terms, and service levels.
- Identify and mitigate supply risks including disruptions and supplier dependencies.
- Implement process improvements to enhance procurement efficiency and cost savings.
- Ensure adherence to procurement policies, procedures, and internal controls.

- Maintain awareness of the requirements of, and their individual contribution to and impact on the effectiveness of, the Integrated Management System (IMS), including Quality, Health & Safety,
Environmental and Product Compliance objectives and requirements - Report on unsafe acts, unsafe conditions, incidents, and injuries, quality issues, compliance concerns, violations to the appropriate personnel without delay.
- Participate in required training, audits, and continuous improvement initiatives.
What You'll Bring- Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain, Business, Finance, or related field required.
- 5-8 years of experience in procurement or supply chain roles required.
- 2-3 years of leadership experience managing procurement teams preferred.
- Strong knowledge of sourcing strategies, supplier management, and negotiation.
- Experience with ERP systems and procurement tools.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and drive results in dynamic environments.
- Experience in manufacturing or industrial environments.
- Professional certifications such as CPSM, CIPS, or similar preferred.
- Experience supporting global or multi-site procurement operations.
- Ability to sit for extended periods while working with procurement systems and data.
- Ability to occasionally travel to supplier sites or manufacturing locations.
