Job Description Production Control ManagerPrincipal Area of Responsibility:This role reports directly to the General Manager and serves as the senior leader responsible for all production planning, scheduling, and fulfillment performance for the facility. Provides strategic direction and operational oversight of the master production schedule, and customer delivery commitments to ensure alignment with the plant sales plan, financial objectives, and customer expectations. Owns the end-to-end planning function, ensuring effective integration of demand, capacity, materials, and production execution. Leads and develops the planning organization, including a Planning Supervisor and Production Planners, driving accountability, capability development, and continuous improvement in planning processes and outcomes. Partners cross-functionally with Sales, Supply Chain, Manufacturing, Engineering, and Quality leadership to balance customer priorities with operational constraints, optimize inventory and lead times, and enable efficient product flow. Drives disciplined production control, capacity planning, and supplier coordination to meet customer commitments while improving service levels, reducing cost, and supporting overall business performance.
Specific Duties:- Lead and oversee all production planning and scheduling activities to ensure alignment with business objectives, customer requirements, and operational capabilities.
- Manage the integrated master production schedule, ensuring alignment with demand forecasts, capacity constraints, and inventory strategies.
- Direct and develop the planning organization, including a Planning Supervisor and Production Planners, establishing clear priorities, performance expectations, and accountability for results.
- Drive a proactive approach to balancing customer demand with production capabilities, identifying risks and implementing mitigation strategies.
- Provide leadership in resolving complex supply, capacity, and scheduling challenges across manufacturing and supplier networks.
- Oversee capacity planning and resource alignment based on sales forecasts and operational constraints.
- Partner with Sales, Manufacturing, Engineering, and Quality leadership to optimize lead times, yields, and overall production performance.
- Ensure effective communication with internal and external stakeholders regarding delivery commitments, risks, and recovery plans.
- Establish and maintain inventory strategies that balance customer service levels, working capital targets, and operational efficiency.
- Own and continuously improve production planning processes, systems, and tools to enhance accuracy, efficiency, and responsiveness.
- Strengthen supplier coordination and scheduling processes, including issue resolution, root cause analysis, and performance improvement.
- Provide visibility and reporting to senior leadership on planning performance, risks, and key metrics.
- Oversee execution of month-end and quarter-end shipment requirements to meet financial and operational targets.
- Lead and reinforce a culture of accountability, continuous improvement, and cross-functional collaboration within the planning function.
- Manage all people leadership responsibilities including staffing, performance management, coaching, and development of direct reports, along with standard administrative responsibilities such as scheduling, attendance tracking, and performance reviews.
- Perform additional responsibilities as required to support business objectives.
Required Skills:- Deep expertise in production planning, scheduling, and end-to-end supply chain management within a manufacturing environment is required.
- Thorough knowledge of the PCC Toolbox required, with a proven track record of performance
- Strong leadership capability with a demonstrated track record of building, developing, and leading high-performing teams is essential.
- The role requires advanced proficiency in ERP/MRP systems, preferably Oracle, along with strong experience in inventory management and data analysis tools such as Excel.
- A strategic mindset combined with strong analytical and problem-solving skills is critical, with the ability to translate data into actionable decisions.
- Excellent communication, influencing, and stakeholder management skills across all levels of the organization are required.
- The ability to operate effectively in a fast-paced, high-demand environment with competing priorities and tight deadlines is essential.
- Candidates must possess a strong understanding of manufacturing operations, capacity planning, and supply-demand balancing, along with experience driving process improvement initiatives; Lean Manufacturing or Six Sigma experience is highly preferred.
- A high level of accountability, sound judgment, and decision-making capability is expected, along with strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to manage complexity.
Education & Experience:- A bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Operations Management, Business Administration, Engineering, or a related field is required
- 7-10 years of progressive data-driven leadership experience within a manufacturing environment
- Experience leading teams through process improvement, transformation, or system optimization initiatives is strongly preferred.
- Extensive experience with ERP/MRP systems, particularly Oracle, and a demonstrated ability to drive data-based decision-making are required.
