Job Description

Summary

Provide the primary planning and scheduling function for the Special Metals Corporation ingot, billet and bar product lines resulting in the timely and efficient manufacture of these products. Focusing primarily on the peel, sonic and shipment of material. Individual must be able to work in and react to changing priorities in a high pressure environment. Individual must have an organized, systematic approach to problem solving. The position will also provide secondary support for the Traffic department to support shipment schedules.

Essential Functions

Extensive knowledge and understanding of SMC manufacturing operations and capabilities

Proficiency in Oracle Applications Business System

Use of Lotus Notes and Microsoft Office for performance of daily activities

Create Discrete Jobs to satisfy Sales Order demand requirements

Issue releases for reapplication of existing inventory for sale.

Schedule outsourcing of peel. Sonic and cut in half jobs as needed to meet customer demands.

Have authority over and manage the daily and weekly production planning schedule of the Bar Mill from start to finish. Working with the Bar Mill Manager to execute the plan developed.

Issue requisitions for outside processing requirements

Supports manufacturing engineering with PFMEAs and their resultant control plans and improvement initiatives, to include SPC, shop wide.

Ability to facilitate Kaizen events within the department to drive required improvements. Identifies and prioritizes improvement opportunities which have greatest potential for positively improving on delivered performance.

Qualifications

Education and Experience

Incumbent will possess a BS Mechanical Engineering or Industrial Engineering. Valued experience would include responsibility which reflects success in leadership roles gained though work in a process manufacturing environment, and thorough knowledge of Lean manufacturing skills set, Theory of Constraint, Six Sigma, and Value Stream mapping.

Relocation

Relocation is authorized for this position.

For informational purposes only, the range of pay for this role is $67000 to $100,600 US Dollar (USD) Salaried based on a variety of factors. For informational purposes only, this role is eligible to participate in the Company's Quarterly Cash Bonus Plan, paid out at the quarterly bonus factor of 1.5X the Company's bonus multiple, based on the Company's performance in the applicable quarter. Employees will receive 120 hours paid time off every year. Employees will also receive 10 paid holidays. Employees (and their families) are eligible to participate in the company's medical, dental, vision, and basic life insurance. Employees are eligible to enroll in the Company's 401(k) plan.

This position requires use of information or access to production processes subject to national security controls under U.S. export control laws and regulations (including, but not limited to the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) and the Export Administration Regulations (EAR)).
