Minimum qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Computer Science, a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
  • 3 years of experience working with client-side web technologies (e.g., HTML, CSS, JavaScript, or HTTP).
  • 3 years of experience coding with one or more programming languages (e.g., Java, C/C , Python).
  • Experience troubleshooting technical issues for internal/external partners or customers.

Preferred qualifications:
  • Master's degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Business, or a related field.
  • Experience managing open-source projects, public code hosting platform repositories, or developer relations (DevRel) initiatives.
  • Experience using Machine Learning, Large Language Models (LLMs), or AI agent technologies and building solutions.
  • Experience working with systems (e.g., Linux, Unix, Windows).
  • Experience working with database technologies (e.g., SQL, NoSQL).

This role is in the gUP Shopping Partner Engineering team, focused on supporting our API ecosystem for Shopping. We work on Universal Commerce Protocol, Google Business Profile and Google Merchant Center API integrations, which power consumer experiences on Google Shopping and many other surfaces.

Our team works with retail partnerships to achieve ambitious plans to grow the value merchants and users get from Google, while ensuring high data quality. We closely collaborate with Engineering and Product teams to develop and improve Google's products and tools. We are advocates of the customer and partner experience, advocating for features and offering product and tools improvements backed by data-driven insights.

Individual pay is determined by factors including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.

US: $127000 - $182000 (USD) 15% bonus target equity benefits

Responsibilities
  • Contribute to and maintain technical repositories (e.g., on code hosting platform), applying best practices for repository management, linters, continuous integration (CI) infrastructure, community triage, developer tooling, and technical documentation (e.g., READMEs).
  • Provide high touch technical guidance, partner education, implementation reviews, and troubleshooting for strategic partners to guarantee successful integrations and resolve technical challenges within defined service level agreements.
  • Develop technical tools, open-source utilities (e.g., software development kits (SDKs), scripts), and documentation to expedite partner implementation, improve developer experience (DevX), and enhance operational scaling with Engineering.
  • Work with Product Managers, Partner Operations Managers, and Engineering to channel partner feedback and prioritize new product features and tool requests to improve processes, performance, and product offerings.
  • Identify, drive, and optimize growth for new business opportunities by leveraging data and Google technologies.
