Full Job Description
We are seeking a Product Technical Lead to join our Information Technology team in Irving, TX. Through humanitarian work, the goal and purpose of Samaritan's Purse are to help people in Jesus' name and share the Gospel of Jesus Christ. In the role of Product Technical Lead, you will have the opportunity to:
  • Maintain a personal, active relationship with Jesus Christ and be a consistent witness for Jesus Christ.
  • Mentor and guide developers and senior developers, fostering a supportive, collaborative culture where people thrive and perform at their best.
  • Contribute hands-on to the code by building complex and foundational components, prototyping solutions, and implementing patterns that improve product quality and developer efficiency.
  • Collaborate with other Product Technical Leads and the Assistant Director of Product Development to establish shared technical standards, tools, and engineering practices.
  • Oversee the integrity and quality of deliverables, ensuring code aligns with architecture and performance expectations, managing technical debt, and upholding reliable deployment and support processes.
  • Lead retrospectives, monitor engineering metrics, and use data to drive continuous process and operational improvements.

As a qualified candidate, you will have the following skills and experience:
  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, Business, or related field (or equivalent experience) and a minimum of 7 years of relevant work experience in software engineering, with proven leadership/mentorship responsibilities and experience building large software products.
  • Extensive knowledge of modern software architecture principles: microservices, API design, cloud infrastructure, and scalable systems. Strong full-stack development experience including front-end, back-end, database technologies.
  • Experience building or supporting an Email Service Provider (ESP) or enterprise-grade email delivery system.
  • Deep understanding of SMTP, MTAs, DNS, SPF, DKIM, DMARC, CAN-SPAM, GDPR, blocklist management, bounce handling, and feedback loops.
  • Deep understanding of email deliverability and reputation management.
  • Hands-on experience with event-driven or streaming technologies (e.g., Kafka, RabbitMQ) for large-scale processing.
  • Proficiency in backend development with experience in high-throughput, fault-tolerant systems.
  • Working knowledge of DevOps/tooling: containerization (Docker, Kubernetes), infrastructure as code, deployment automation.
  • Strong leadership skills with experience guiding and developing engineering teams, while also contributing technically to core components.
  • Comfortable working in agile, product-centered environments; able to pivot as business priorities or requirements evolve.
  • 12 credit hours of college-level Biblical Studies preferred but not required.
