Are you a Product Support Engineer who enjoys getting close to the hardware, solving real-world engineering challenges, and working directly with manufacturing teams to improve products? This role is for an engineer who thrives on troubleshooting, root cause analysis, and collaborating across engineering, operations, and supplier teams.
As a Product Support Engineer supporting Ram Air Turbine (RAT) systems, you will play a key role in keeping critical aerospace hardware performing at its best. You’ll investigate production and test failures, identify solutions to manufacturing challenges, support suppliers and production sites, and drive improvements that enhance product quality, reliability, and performance.

What You Will Do
Provide operations support for production of Ram Air Turbine (RAT) systems, including air-driven turbines, angle gearboxes, hydraulic pumps, and linear hydraulic actuators with locking/release mechanisms.
Provide manufacturing support to suppliers and Collins’ production sites to resolve issues impacting hardware producibility, quality, and yield.
Investigate electro-mechanical and hydro-mechanical hardware acceptance test failures and production issues to identify root causes and drive corrective actions.
Collaborate with plant sites and suppliers to implement solutions and improve manufacturing performance.
Participate in product development activities including cost estimates, standard specifications, drawing layouts, and performance or maintenance requirements.
Lead and support Process Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (PFMEA) and Design Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (DFMEA) reviews.
Qualifications You Must Have
Qualifications We Prefer
Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering.
Experience analyzing mechanical rotating hardware and complex mechanical systems.
Experience in resolving hardware manufacturing, operational, and test-related issues.
Experience supporting product/component development and qualification testing, including performance and environmental testing.
Understanding of electric machines and rotating mechanical hardware.
Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to collaborate across engineering, manufacturing, and supplier teams.

The salary range for this role is 68,900 USD - 131,100 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate’s work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.
